Broncos Greatest Games, Round 1B.
I hope you all enjoy reading through the summary of these games as much as I enjoyed writing some of them. See here for a full description of this greatest games tournament.
In part because I want to give people extra time, and in part because my schedule dictates it, I’m going to leave voting for both Round 1A and Round 1B open until Sunday Evening. So enjoy the extra time to learn about/remember some of the great Broncos memories outlined below, comment on your memories of these games, and vote for your favorites. The new schedule still has us adding in the playoff games middle of next week, and still finishing about a week before training camp.
Again, thanks to RSH for the summaries of the even seeded games.
Final Word On Proposed Contract For Von Miller
I had a little bit of time to put together a proposed contract for Von Miller that would give him more in fully guaranteed money and total guarantees, yet still give the Broncos a chance to get out of the deal after three years.
Before I get to it, Joel Corry broke down what he expects will happen with each of the franchise tagged players not signed to long-term deals. He expects Miller and the Broncos will reach an agreement, but I want to focus on the reported details he shared of where the Broncos’ last offer stands: $114.5M over six years, $38.5M fully guaranteed upon signing, $39.8M guaranteed over the first two years, $21.5M signing bonus, and $58M in total guarantees.
One comment I will make is that I am surprised the Broncos are going with a $21.5M signing bonus, because that would mean more than $4M will be pro-rated over the first five years of the deal. Assuming the Broncos keep him on the roster for at least three years, that would mean a dead money charge of more than $8M if he were to be released at that point. Of course, the Broncos aren’t guaranteed to part ways with Miller after three years and are more likely hoping Miller will be with the franchise for the next five years, but whether he actually collects money from the sixth year of the contract remains to be seen.

Broncos Greatest Games, Round 1A UPDATED WITH DESCRIPTIONS
Edit: RSH and I have updated each game to include a brief description/teaser of the game. If anyone has any more good sources or info on the older games, feel free to share, as I know I felt lacking on some older games. Much thanks to RSH for his help.
Hopefully wading through this many games isn’t too tough, but I think once we get into the later round, this will be a really fun exercise.
As mentioned, I am going to facilitate a Broncos greatest game tournament to help give us something to do/talk about before training camp kicks off. Vote in the comments. See full description here. Download full bracket Denver Broncos Greatest Games. Campaigning for favorite games and sharing memories is encouraged!
One more thing, you don’t have to vote on every match up if you don’t want to.

Happy Fourth Of July, Everyone
I’m sure most of you are spending the day celebrating the holiday. So I’m just going to leave you with one link, to Jake Plummer’s guest writing for MMQB.
In the piece, Plummer talks first about Pat Tillman, then discusses his efforts to get the NFL to recognize the benefits of cannabinoids over opioids for treating pain.
I’ll leave the rest of thread open for people to discuss what they want or leave holiday wishes to the rest of the Thin Air-ites.
It’s All Orange, Fat Man: 07/04/16 (4th of July Open Thread)
I’m going to enjoy my day off. Hope ya’ll have a great 4th! And as always, you guys are awesome.
Greatest Bronco Game Tournament
As promised, I wanted to help us pass the Month of July by doing a bracket style tournament to determine the greatest Broncos game, similar in style to the greatest player bracket Nick facilitated in March. The format will be pretty much the same. In the same way Nick used objective criteria to seed the players, I tried to do the same with greatest games. This turned out to be a lot more difficult than I thought, and it probably left some good games off the list. Here’s the process I used.
