What’s up in-thinair, been a while since I’ve gotten the chance to post. School’s been super hectic with college apps and such, and I don’t see that letting up. I’ll try to make it on here to post sporadically, but unfortunately I won’t be posting multiple times a week like I was in the summer.
Oakland Raiders linebacker Aldon Smith has been suspended for one year without pay under the NFL’s substance-abuse policy, the league said Tuesday.
In September, Smith, 25, pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor counts of hit-and-run, drunken driving and vandalism, charges that stem from an alleged Aug. 6 incident.
“Under the terms of the policy, Smith will be eligible to apply for reinstatement no sooner than 60 days before the one-year anniversary of the suspension,” the NFL said in a statement.
Scrolling through my twitter feed, basking in the post victory glow, I saw a number of noteworthy tweets worth sharing with you, Broncos Country. Instead of jamming them into a comment somewhere, I decided to make this into a quick weekly article. Some of these tweets aren’t terribly relevant (Shaq Barrett’s tweet for instance) but this will mostly be interesting quotes and insider thoughts on the previous day’s game. Also, I don’t agree with all the viewpoints shared in this article, and C.J. Anderson is not the next Montee Ball.
Well, Kubiak’s first game as a head coach is officially in the books. Personally, I’m just happy football’s back. Remembering years like 2013, it’s amazing that we could even win a game scoring only 19 points. Our defense can win games clearly, they did today.
Hopefully not lost in all this Deflategate nonsense is an excellent article that Doc wrote for Scout.com‘s Broncos site, Mile High Huddle. It touches on the increased learning curve for young OLinemen in the NFL. We all love Docs stuff, and he’s been producing great content for Rivals, which, after Thin Air of course, is an excellent Broncos blog. Glad to see that Doc’s back in some capacity.
On Friday, the Denver Broncos announced that they waived WR Solomon Patton. Per the team’s official website:
My being 17, I forgot that normal adults work on Monday, as Rollston pointed out. Therefore, the draft will be Sunday instead. This will be the last fantasy related post on this site, all other posts will be in league updates.
For those of you who are not regular Bleacher Report readers, (trust me, I don’t blame you) Ted Sunquist, former Broncos GM, wrote an interesting article for them today. Continue reading Ted Sundquist Bleacher Report Article
