      • Steven_Searls

Who is their backup QB since Moore is inactive?

    • ohiobronco

      Taylor down and McKenzie up.

      • Forrest Trump

Seems like the right thing to do. If they think he can be the guy, they gotta get him back on the horse and through the yips.

      • Jeremy

        So who’s the emergency QB?

  • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

I had a dream last night that I was at a restaurant, and John Elway was there. He was very cheerful, and I was very excited to see him, as expected. As I motioned to buy him a drink, his crew gave me the cut off signal, and a waitress came up to me and told me he had already been cut off, and he earlier threw up in the corner. I wonder what the dream meant, other than I’m just a weird Bronco fan that should find a new hobby? Go Broncos!

  • Forrest Trump

The super scientific simulation went poorly. Very, very poorly. It sucked.

I actually think the game will go well, though….depending on your end game. By well, I think Denver is going to kick the living shit out of them. Like, really work out some pent up frustrations and shit.

    • Yahmule

This is the game to do it. Miami is the worst team left on the schedule by far. Indy has less talent, but they play hard every week.

  • Royalwithcheese

Super excited to see JC for three plays instead of Henderson. Why carry a rookie RB for an entire season if you’re not going to play him?

    • Forrest Trump

I suppose maybe VJ feels like his job is on the line.

  • RyanHennigan

    Live stream for today’s game

    http://buffstream.com/watch/nfl-6.php

  • Jeremy

    Go Broncos

  • Steven_Searls

    Great start!

  • Jeremy

There’s the break we needed, let’s shut em down now.

  • Dennis

The Dolphins are looking like a great team so far!

  • Steven_Searls

    No fumble!

    • DCJ1

      Positives we can build on!

  • Forrest Trump

    Ice T 28-30 478 6

    • Dennis

      Already!

    • diningerj

      Put the bong down…..

      • Steven_Searls

        Why?

      • Forrest Trump

I got all the angst out of my system. Now its just rainbows, lollipops and fairy tail endings 24/7

  • Dennis

Oh good he caught it at the 10 yard line. I’m gonna start calling that “The Denver Touchback”.

  • Jeremy

Like the running game so far

  • Steven_Searls

    KC killing the Jets.

  • Jeremy

    PI and Personal Foul

    • DCJ1

      Dirty play.

      • Steven_Searls

This is how their defense plays.

    • diningerj

      What a fuck up!

  • Royalwithcheese

Running the ball with ease, so why not go ahead and pass?

    • RSH

And Connor McGovern looking very good while pulling on run plays.

  • Steven_Searls

    Deja Vu all over again.

  • diningerj

Ball was off target, why it was tipped

    • DCJ1

How was it off target? It was right in front of him, chest high.

      • Jeremy

Defensive Back was all over him. It’s bad luck, but it’s on Siemian too. Same as Lynch’s pick. Bad luck, but on the QB as well.

  • RagnarRagnarsson

    Bad News Broncos..

  • Kyle Milligan

    WELP

That’s it for me, fellas. As much as I want them to tank and get the highest possible pick, I can’t actually watch this shit.

  • Brian

    Sigh

  • Forrest Trump

They just setting up Roby’s pick six.

    • Steven_Searls

      He almost got one.

      • Forrest Trump

        Here it comes.

        • Forrest Trump

          Damn

  • John

    Did Siemian throw an INT?

    • Dennis

      Yup

      • John

Naturally. Well, that’s what I expect from Captain Garbage Time.

    • RSH

A question that you already knew the answer to. 🙂

    • Ya. Tipped off Sanders hands but threw to a covered receiver.

    • Kyle Milligan

the answer was “yes” before the game started.

      • Andrew

Yeah I can’t even get mad anymore this season is such a dumpster fire we might as well get the best draft pick possible.

        • Dennis

This is my thinking as well.

  • RSH

    Sit down, Jay.

  • Steven_Searls

    McKenzie is killing it today

  • John

What’s funny is that Siemian won’t be blamed for the INT, but if Lynch threw that, he would be crucified by everybody.

    • Brian

No. Lynch would never make that throw as it traveled more than 4 yards downfield.

    • Pretty sure Stink just let all viewers know the INT was on Siemian.

    • DCJ1

Huh? If anything it goes the other way.

      • Jeremy

It’s whoever you are a fan of. If you are a Lynch fan you’ll blame the pick on Siemian. If you are a Siemian fan you’ll chock it up to bad luck.

        • DCJ1

Which is frustrating to those of us who don’t care about who, we just want the best player back there.

    • Steven_Searls

Let’s be honest. 2018 starting QB is not on current roster.

  • Brian

The old fair catch inside the ten punt return

  • Royalwithcheese

Harris. A bright spot in an otherwise disappointing season.

  • RSH

Two cleanly fielded punts by Isaiah McKenzie thus far today. #moralvictories

  • Is Taylor under the weather? Or just saying f it MacKenzie get us a better draft pick?

    • Royalwithcheese

      Draft pick.

    • Jeremy

Or the see what you have with McKenzie. Potential is there.

Coaches don’t seem high on Taylor.

  • Forrest Trump

What was it like when Denver didnt always start pinned inside the 20? Anybody that old?

    • RSH

‘Twas a time of sheer wonder, splendor, and delight.

  • Steven_Searls

    Dodged a safety.

    • Or not.

    • diningerj

      Not anymore……

    • Russ

      Spoke too soon

      • Steven_Searls

        Yep.

  • Steven_Searls

    But gave it right back.

  • Yahmule

    JFC

    • SterlingMalloryArcher

I’m running out of patience waiting for Vance Joseph’s remarkable leadership to start showing itself on the football field.

      • Yahmule

I have a hard time blaming Vance for that grand mal piss shiver of a snap.

        • SterlingMalloryArcher

I was referring to the overall ineptitude of the team.

  • Brian

    Good play by TS

    • Ha that’s what it’s come to for this squad. What a mess…

      • RSH

You live for and relish these moments, Rico.

    • Steven_Searls

      Our first half highlight!

  • RSH

Fitting the way this season has gone.

  • Dennis

    Lol!

  • Royalwithcheese

Paradis thought Lynch was back there.

  • Piglet62

At least it’s not the Super Bowl.

  • Yahmule

So, anyway, this Quenton Nelson looks pretty good.

    • FarAwayBroncoFan

If we have Luck. Otherwise, let’s get Mayfield.

      • Yahmule

It will cost the first rounder to get the Broken Ogre.

        • FarAwayBroncoFan

          Oh yeah. Well, damn.

      • Brian

Mayfield is a douche. Cutler 2.0

        • Steven_Searls

But he would be our douche. Plus he caaaares!

        • FarAwayBroncoFan

Fair enough. I don’t know enough about him. Assuming you’d want a QB, who would you pick?

  • Forrest Trump

Just hard to wrap ones head around how hapless this offense is.

  • Rob Rooney

    And our offense scores first!!

  • Royalwithcheese

I’m starting to think the Broncos might actually be the worst team in the league, outside of the Browns.

    • cjfarls

I just said that to my son.

    • Brian

      Bears

  • Jeremy

YoutubeTV is $35/month? No idea what it gets, but that is worse than cable.

    • gnasses

Where I am (Twin Cities) cheapest cable package above just local channels is $54. Depending on channels, might actually be OK as that would be in between price of cable and SlingTV for me.

      • Jeremy

Looks like you get a few more channels with sling TV than youtube TV. Looked it up and you can have 6 accounts per membership, with up to 3 watching at once, while I believe only one person can watch Sling at once. Also, the unlimited DVR looks like an advantage of YoutubeTV

        • gnasses

Yep, occasionally I’ll fire up sling and get blocked if kids are watching something. DVR might be nice, theres a few shows that used to be on Hulu but now can only watch live which I hate.

Sling + Netflix + Hulu + AmazonPrime is almost the same per month as cable but so much more content and watchable on-demand.

  • Russ

“They’ll review as they do all scoring plays” WTF are they gonna review? Either he’s down and it’s a safety or he’s not down and it’s a safety.

  • RSH

Shelby Harris has been the Penetrator thus far.

  • Jeremy

Shelby Harris has been another bright spot this year.

  • Russ

    Harris coming to play!

  • diningerj

    Harris is ballin…..2nd TFL

  • Steven_Searls

    Shelby Harris!

  • Got away with PI.

  • diningerj

    Wow, a touchback…..excellent field position!

  • Forrest Trump

Roby will have a Top 5 CB phase. I hope its in Denver.

  • Steven_Searls

Three yard and a cloud of Booker

  • RSH

    Virgil Green sighting.

  • RSH

    Nice blitz pickup by Booker.

  • Brian

Did green wander out of bounds 5 yards before contact?

  • Steven_Searls

    Fast 1st quarter.

    • iowabronco

Hopefully the rest of this season goes as fast.

  • Brian

Brady just tripped, through from 1 knee. No grounding called.

  • DCJ1

Left side of the line is looking better today than any other game.

  • RSH

    Rockies 3, Marlins 2. Shades of 1993.

  • Steven_Searls

I think we should go for it. But we didn’t.

  • Jeremy

When was the last time we had a lead?

    • cjfarls

      Maybe a month ago?

    • diningerj

      Right now……3-2

    • Jeremy

Looks like we lead for about 4 minutes in the Bengals game, and about 4 minutes in the Eagles game, and that’s it during the streak.

      • Jeremy

And no ties during the streak besides 0-0 ties.

  • Royalwithcheese

That was just a straight shitty pass. Should’ve been an easy first down.

    • diningerj

Again off target – led him too much

  • Forrest Trump

Seems like like maybe throwing something other than a slant on 3rd down might, you know, jazz things up a little. Maybe catch the other fellas snoozing or something.

  • cjfarls

Von does such a good job on the edge in the run game.

    • gnasses

Underrated all around defender. Far superior to most other elite edge rushers.

      • cjfarls

I don’t think he’s underrated, but he is fun to watch.

  • Brian

Todd just be happy no pi

  • Steven_Searls

Chiefs choked up lead. Now tied with Jets.

  • Forrest Trump

    Next, a pig flying…

  • Yahmule

He slipped trying to slam on the brakes for the underthrown ball, you momo.

  • Steven_Searls

Von looks out for game. Damn.

    • Royalwithcheese

      He was faking.

    • Jeremy

      Hoping just a cramp.

    • Jeremy

      He’s back out.

      • Steven_Searls

        Glad I am wrong.

  • Jeremy

Julius “Can’t Block Giant Pussy” Thomas with a decent block on Von.

  • Steven_Searls

    Missing Peko.

  • cjfarls

Stewart late coming over on the rotation…. Again.

  • Jeremy

Props to Stewart for not getting a personal foul when the Running back was completely vulnerable, yet still getting a hit on the guy.

  • Jeremy

    And so it goes.

  • Steven_Searls

    Tanking.

  • Yahmule

You knew this would happen. Nearly drafted him in daily.

  • Royalwithcheese

Parks needs to just turn around.

  • cjfarls

Gee… Who would have guessed a TE scores a TD against us…..

  • Jeremy

Julius Thomas had to be motivated to show the Broncos fans something after he was run out of town.

    • RSH

He was ran out of town?

      • More Cow Bell

I would love to be run out of Denver that way!

      • Jeremy

All sorts of reports came out about how he quit on the team and was basically a giant pussy. Shannon Sharpe called him out and fans completely turned on him. Then his Dad responded which only added fuel to the fire.

  • Forrest Trump

I don’t really get JTs jones against Denver.

    • Forrest Trump

Seems like Denver worked out okay for him.

  • RSH

And JT scores on a Jay Cutler pass. This season officially sucks.

    • Signing Cutler was an option Elway should have explored.

      • Dennis

Maybe he did and Jay said fuck off my arm is stronger than yours.

  • Jeremy

In other news, they chose Alabama over Ohio St for the last spot in the playoffs.

    • Steven_Searls

      Damn

  • cjfarls

Defense really can’t complain too much this season… While they are certainly a superior unit, they give up a lot of long drives.

  • cjfarls

We’re going to get blown out by Miami….

  • Steven_Searls

    Again. Tanking.

  • FarAwayBroncoFan

    Fuck

  • diningerj

    BAD, BAD, BAD DECISION SIEMIAN!

    • Jeremy

Yeah, that one is 100% on Siemian.

      • DCJ1

        Yep.

    • RSH

      Bad ball placement.

    • cjfarls

      Decision okay…. Accuracy terrible

  • More Cow Bell

at least we know what needs to be done.

  • Forrest Trump

I’m starting to think maybe this isn’t our year.

    • diningerj

      Ya think?

    • Dennis

You might be on to something!

  • Steven_Searls

Guess Derby gave them our milkshake.

  • Royalwithcheese

    Blown out in Miami.

  • RSH

Siemian may only be worth coming back as a backup based on his low cap figure.

    • Royalwithcheese

Was there any doubt about that?

      • RSH

Well, based on how he is playing, I am debating whether he is worth a roster spot at this point.

        • Royalwithcheese

          Ah, I see.

        • Steven_Searls

No one we have at QB is worth a roster spot.

          • RSH

            At QB, correct?

          • Steven_Searls

            Yep edited. Damn autocorrect.

          • Jeremy

            Von?

  • Jeremy

I’ll say it again. The production Kubiak and Dennison were able to squeeze out of this offense (a less talented roster) last year was remarkable.

  • Brian

But guys, remember when we had that lead???

  • Steven_Searls

    Just run every down.

  • Royalwithcheese

It’s almost like they should’ve been running the ball this whole time.

    • No excuse for not sticking with it, really should be running every down.

  • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

I would say we are going to be in a very realistic position to draft Baker Mayfield, or Lamar Jackson. At this rate, maybe even Rosen.

    • Brian

I like an athletic non-douche qb. Give me Jackson!

      • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

Mayfield does have a hint of douche in him, but he’s really accurate, mobile, and I like his enthusiasm.

        • Steven_Searls

Most QBs are douches. I like the way Mayfield plays.

          • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

Elway being one of the biggest.

    • iowabronco

I hope we solidify the line and a FA QB. Too many first round QB whiffs.

      • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

Our line does suck, but I’m done blaming them. This is a quarterback problem.

        • iowabronco

They’re both bad, agree. We need both, but regardless of Jackson, Rosen, whomever, we need a line to run and pass.

          • Steven_Searls

            Toss coaching in the mix.

          • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

Maybe I’m delusional, but I really think that a stud right tackle would be a dramatic improvement for this line.

          • DCJ1

But until they address that, it won’t matter who’s behind center.

    • Forrest Trump

      Nelson – Mayfield

      • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

Pardon my ignorance, who is Nelson?

        • FarAwayBroncoFan

          A guard at Notre Dame

        • Yahmule

26 reps @ 225 as a high school senior. 40 pounds heavier and meaner now. Best player in the draft, IMO.

          https://youtu.be/148F8rR2GSg

  • Jeremy

More Good News. The safety was an aborted play and not a turnover so we are only -18 in the TO margain.

  • Brian

    Wait, what?

  • Jeremy

I wonder if a team has ever had 3 QBs reach the 100 pass attempt mark in a single season. If Lynch plays 3 more games we might get there.

    • Brian

      Wasn’t there a Montana/young/bono injury season?

    • Yahmule

Cleveland (of course) had three guys with at least 147 last year.

  • Bolles is gonna make the decision to pass on Ramczyk look very bad over the next decade.

    • Hank Mardukis

Bolles has had a fine rookie season.

      • SterlingMalloryArcher

He has, but Ramczyk has been better, and looked to be the better player going into the draft. Factor in Bolles’ advanced age, and Ramczyk right now appears to be the clearly superior player.

        • Hank Mardukis

          We’ll see.

  • DCJ1

Good lord. Blow the offense up completely.

  • So anyways, I went with the galaxy8 over pixel2. Discounted by $150 on Black Friday.

    • Royalwithcheese

      How you like it?

      • Hasn’t come in yet. Really looking forward to it.

  • Jeremy

    That’s my boy.

  • cjfarls

    Nice job CHj

  • Steven_Searls

    CHJ

  • diningerj

    Chris Harris…..NFZ!

  • Brian

    Not an INT

    • cjfarls

Didn’t move though, so don’t think it can be overturned.

  • Close…

  • Royalwithcheese

    No INT

  • Forrest Trump

    Denver will get fucked.

    • Steven_Searls

      Normally yes.

    • Forrest Trump

So, so far today, Todd Davis covered a guy successfully and Denver won a review. Its like ethe dayof miracles or something.

  • Yahmule

Like we’re going to get away with that this season.

  • Brian

Do you have inconclusive evidence? Yes, yes you do.

  • DCJ1

Will we get a border line call? OMG! It went our way!

  • Well, that was weird. Something went our way.

  • cjfarls

TS play fakes are just comically bad.

    • Kwash

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen someone fake the wrong way so many times.

  • Royalwithcheese

    Wow

  • Brian

    Ugly

  • Royalwithcheese

    Ptitful

  • More Cow Bell

    13 looks very much bad.

  • Brian

    Great protection. Terrible pass

  • cjfarls

    Just eye covering awful.

  • Brian

Way to capitalize on that turnover!

  • More Cow Bell

    5 of 13/62 yards/2 int. Fuck this.

    • cjfarls

Yeah, I was in the opinion that TS was an acceptable backup…. I don’t think so if this continues.

  • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

Had time, over throws an open receiver. Anyways, no sense in beating a dead horse. I don’t think that anybody is on the Siemian/Aaron Rodgers lite train any longer.

  • Yahmule
    • Yahmule

Yes, there are something like a dozen pretty decent looking quarterbacks in this draft. Half of them will wind up sucking in the NFL.

      • Tyler

        Probably more than half.

        • Yahmule

          Most likely.

        • cjfarls

I’d say if 3 are any good, that is a great class.

          • Yahmule

And I would be really happy drafting about six of them. I would rather just get the sure thing. Cousins is productive, tough and deeply committed to football. I don’t care if we have to overpay a little. We’re paying a much higher price right now.

  • Steven_Searls

Do we put in Brent at halftime?

    • Brian

If we were trying to win and have a spark, maybe. I think no though. Why worry about win?

  • Brian

I’m honestly surprised Trevor is shitting the bed. I had thought he might have a nice redemption game.

    • Yahmule

It’s incredibly disappointing to play this poorly against a defense that has allowed 177 points in the last five games.

    • Russ

As prone as he is to turning the ball over, you have to conclude he’s not good backup material either. He had a nice little garbage time run last week, but you can’t trust him to manage a game at this point. Just awful.

  • Man if you guys think I was tough on Siemian, Stink is just destroying him today.

    • cjfarls

Deservedly… This is bad as TS has been.

      • Royalwithcheese

Worst game as a pro for sure.

        • Jeremy

Still time to turn it around.

      • Brian

Not his worst this season, but bottom 3 of his appearances.

        • cjfarls

Comparable to NYG…. Can’t think of any worse (no protection vs buffalo)

          • Brian

Nyg for sure. That was awful. Is buffalo the one with the two awful ints?

    • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

That’s the kind of throw that makes you wonder if he’s really right-handed. Ouch.

  • diningerj
  • Brian

I mean I like that McKenzie let that go, I just can’t figure why team others that were closer to endzone were fielded for fair catch.

  • Yahmule

Travis Kelce got loose against those excellent rookie safeties in NY for two touchdowns in the first three minutes, but they have him on lockdown since then. Nobody else on that offense is even good.

  • Steven_Searls

    A JC sighting.

    • cjfarls

      I’d rather see d Henderson.

      • Brian

Is it possible that Henderson flat out sucks in practice? So that it’s not even worth evaluating?

        • Royalwithcheese

Then cut him. He’s a sixth round RB. Easily replaceable.

  • Alaskan

    Holy guacamole!
Once again, I am still safely ensconced in a foreign country where the Broncos are not on the TV and the hotel internet won’t stream anything longer than clips. So, I come into the hotel after a nice day walking around (4 hours ahead of Denver time) and fire up the CBS Gametracker. Then I check Thin Air to see if it has really been that bad.Sounds like it has been all that and worse.

    • DCJ1

Yep. Almost all the positive plays are negated back by penalties. The only bright side is that there are very few good plays.

    • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

Please set your phone down and go back to enjoying your vacation, Sir. Nothing to see here.

  • Steven_Searls

    Garcia!

  • Royalwithcheese

Are you kidding me with that throw?

  • Andrew

Hate to be the guy calling for a coach In Year 1 but how does VJ survive this season?

    • cjfarls

With as bad as the player execution has been…. Don’t think we can evaluate VJ.

      • Andrew

Similar roster executed much better with a different coaching staff…

        • Yahmule

I’m not sure the rosters are all that similar. The line was even worse and Siemian broke after two weeks this time. The defense finally cracked under the pressure.

          • Jeremy

Here was the major roster differences coming into camp. Are you saying the line was worst this year or last?

            https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/629863ddecad1eb3aa9ab58a50f0a67ec02b5cf9674483616c26463ccbb8420f.jpg

          • Yahmule

I think we’re worse. Okung and Bolles is a push for this season at least. Garcia has regressed. Paradis is getting bullrushed more this year. Leary is an upgrade for sure. Right tackle has continued to be a shit show. We inexplicably gutted our depth by sending off Sambrailo and Schofield and replacing them journeyman like Barbre. We’re on pace to allow more sacks. Three more and we’ll surpass last year’s total. I’m definitely taking the over on that one. We’re averaging more on the ground, but have a pathetic five rushing touchdowns, compared to 11 last season.

          • Yahmule

The major upshot of having back to back terrible lines is we took a promising young quarterback in Siemian and turned him into a shellshocked mess by exposing him to multiple cherry shots.

          • Jeremy

I think the performance has been worse (or about the same, better run blocking, worse pass blocking), but the talent level is higher.

          • Yahmule

I have guarded optimism. If we can even fix LG or RT, we’ll be much better off. I think you can work around one weak link, but two guys who can’t pass black are just going to kill you.

          • Jeremy

I think a strong RT would go a long way to improving things. I think Bolles is going to be much improved next year.

          • Yahmule

I thought the hip procedures would actually help Paradis because they were simple debridements. My knee debridement was a major relief. Maybe it cost him weight room time recovering, but seems underpowered this year. I think he bounces back strong in 2018. Not having a turnstyle to his left might help.

      • DCJ1

Player execution is part of the coaches job. That said, you can’t throw him out after one year. He should get another year to improve.

        • Steven_Searls

They’d won’t want to buy out the rest of his contract I’m guessing.

    • Russ

I’m a firm believer that coaching continuity breeds sustained success (though one could easily make the argument that that chicken comes before the egg or whatever) but if they lose out, I can’t see VJ keeping his job. You just cannot take a playoff-contending team and turn them into a laughingstock. If he inherited a previously bad team, you have to give him at least two years.

    • Piglet62

He’s got to go. This level of ineptitude requires a complete coaching housecleaning.

  • Brian

I disagree stink. Looked like a bs holding call at the end. Maybe for the action before that.

  • Andrew

Going down kicking and screaming right? Lol

  • Brian

Omg you can’t throw that up and hope for a pi? Wtf? Why throw at all? Just kneel down, after 3 seconds.

  • QDoc

best play design of the day. Roll out and throw it away.

  • Royalwithcheese

    Brock should start second half.

    • DCJ1

Why. He’s just as bad as the other guys.

    • Brian

Sure, if it’s a referendum on TS effectiveness, but it’s not. If you hair trigger to Os you may as well fire vj at half too.

      • More Cow Bell

        not a bad idea

      • Royalwithcheese

Don’t you play to win the game? TS has been Tebow level today.

        • Steven_Searls

Worse. Tebow would have some rushing yards at least.

        • Brian

You don’t throw the game, but no reason to pull out all the stop to win, right?

    • cjfarls

Sadly I think so…. Unless you want to see if TS can rally. But he looks rattled, and leaving him in May just wreck him more.

      • DCJ1

The only reason to put Oz in is if you want him on the team next year. I hope not.

        • cjfarls

Depends on his price. I’d take him for $2m over PL or TS at this point.

          • Jeremy

Worth noting all of Lynch’s 2018 salary and even a chunk of his 2019 salary is fully guaranteed.

          • cjfarls

Yes, but he doesn’t look like he’s worth a roster spot at any price.

          • DCJ1

If you can get him for that. He’s going to want more.

  • Yahmule

I think we really have a good shot at running the table. Injury riddled Washington will likely handle us next week. The Cousins/whoever-the-fuck-we-start duel looks like abig mismatch. The tight end revenge tour will continue with the Vernon Davis leg. The Jets and Colts lack talent, but they play hard every week. Kelce will set set us on fire in week 17.

    • Royalwithcheese

Incredibly, they will be in Darnold/Rosen range.

      • Yahmule

As long as the Giants win a game. Although, technically, SF could still screw us with a trade. Those worthless fuckers can’t (or won’t) even beat the Bears.

    • Laces Out

Certainly possible..Im not seeing any bright spots but maybe Shelby Harris and he cant score 20 points.

  • Steven_Searls

Chiefs give up 2 minute drill TD. Losing at half.

  • Brian

In fantasy matchup news I have 4 guys active and opponent has 5. Im up 10-9. My team averages 130 points. I might score 50.

  • Royalwithcheese

So, McGovern has been solid. Why in the world hasn’t he played to this point? Leary prefers LG. Another failure by this coaching staff.

    • Brian

Has he been? Hard to tell here without all 22. But a failure by coaching staff would be unsurprising.

      • Royalwithcheese

Well, no sacks or pressures and strong running game point in that direction.

  • ElwayIsGod7

I just….watching this game is torture.

  • ElwayIsGod7

    And Super-Fuck UGA.

    • Yahmule

I will forgive them for one of their running backs.

      • diningerj

What a dynamic duo, Chubb and Michel.

        • Yahmule

I don’t think they’re going to be miss a beat with D’Andre Swift taking over as lead back next season.

    • diningerj

      Why?

      • ElwayIsGod7

Because their team beat my team, so I’m sad.

        • diningerj

Rog…..my wife’s from Macon, happy wife at my house today.

  • Steven_Searls

    Time for beers guys.

    • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

      Or Morphine.

  • Royalwithcheese

We should all be pulling for the Niners and Giants the rest of the way.

    • Yahmule

They’re a bunch of tanking cunts, though, aren’t they?

  • DCJ1

This is ridiculous. You finally get a decent pass out Siemian and Thomas drops it.

  • Steven_Searls

Every time they cut to VJ on the sideline he always looks utterly confused.

  • Royalwithcheese

I like DT, but damn. Plays like that make me look at the money he’s making and think…

  • Brian

    Cool play by Mia

  • Brian

    Bring the house

    • Brian

      Sigh

  • Steven_Searls

I think we are helping Gase keep his job.

  • Brian

    Simmons Is nickel corner?

  • Brian

I think I may be on to red zone channel if they score. Would hate to miss chance to watch professional football this weekend.

  • Steven_Searls

It’s worth noting Miami offense has been nothing special this year.

    • Jeremy

Just like the Bengals offense was one of the worst in the league.

      • Steven_Searls

This team has quit on our coaching staff. Just my opinion.

  • Steven_Searls

Josh McCown looks better than any QB on our team.

    • Brian

True. But mccown is top 10 in league this year.

      • Steven_Searls

        With the Jets.

    • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

That thought has run through my head many times.

    • Brian

Jacoby brissett also better than al 3 qbs. Others?

      • Yahmule

I liked Brissett a lot, but thought he was a curious pick for New England and I’m not surprised they moved on from him.

    • SterlingMalloryArcher

I lobbied pretty hard for McCown instead of Sanchez prior to the 2016 season. But I also was a big proponent of the Paxton Lynch pick, so I’m not breaking my arm patting myself on the back.

  • Brian

    Oh ffs.

  • Royalwithcheese

A sack, a hold and a false start. Nice.

    • Yahmule

I’m almost to the gallows humor stage with these guys, Royal.

  • Steven_Searls

CJ is our whole offense today.

  • Brian

Fucking terrible. Just run the ball

    • Brian

      Had Charles after chip block

  • Jeremy

    Who’s booing?

    • RSH

I am just sitting here numbly.

  • Yahmule

Garcia is a really nice guy and a really terrible pass blocker.

    • Yahmule

Maybe the two conditions are linked somehow. I’m about ready to listen to Richie Incognito talk about my sister as long as he can stand in front of a rushing lineman, FFS.

      • Brian

Given part of the reason they drafted bolles is his attitude. Makes you wonder why they passed on incognito

        • DCJ1

Optics on Icognito we’re still too ugly.

    • Royalwithcheese

To echo RSH, McGovern deserves a shot before they go shopping for a RG.

  • diningerj

Olivio needs to be fired ASAP

  • Steven_Searls

About time for ST to join the party.

    • DCJ1

      That’s the trifecta.

  • Brian

Hmm. Can we just fire olivo already?

    • diningerj

Leave him in Miami, maybe a bus ticket

      • Laces Out

Fuck that he can catch an Uber

        • diningerj

          Masterpass?

  • Laces Out

Worst fundamental team Ive ever watched.

  • VJ looks lost on the sideline.

    • Russ

That’s the same exact look he has had on every closeup during every game this season.

      • Laces Out

Well after week 3 and an undefeated preseason…yrp

      • It’s like Art Shell used to look like, people often wondered if he was ordering drive-thru or coaching an NFL team. How out of touch is he to say to sideline reporter that TS is his guy now matter what…?!

    • Laces Out

Sucks because we have players especially on D

  • Steven_Searls

Roby wants his option picked up.

  • RSH

A furtituous turnover for us. That never happens!

  • Royalwithcheese

Notice how that long completion happened when they were in zone? Hmm.

    • Steven_Searls

Bad coaches never abandon their scheme even if it isn’t working.

  • Royalwithcheese

Has Langley even been targeted today?

  • Yahmule

    Brady going off on Joshatwack.

    December 3, 2017

    • Russ

Haha!! This makes the Broncos situation almost bearable. Edit: McDaniels reminds me of me trying to restrain myself when my 4yo won’t follow my directions the 10th time I ask.

      • Yahmule

Josh has developed a bit of a boiler, hasn’t he?

  • Steven_Searls

Siemian is just not mobile enough for this line.

    • Royalwithcheese

Held onto the ball too long.

      • DCJ1

Where should he have thrown it? The entire offense is tanking right now. The line is getting blown up, the recievers aren’t open, and the QB is turning into a head case. I’m honestly no longer sure who is worth keeping on that side of the ball.

        • Forrest Trump

          CJ been ballin a little.

    • Brian

To be fair, few are 🙂

  • Brian

Unreal incompetence. Hard to fathom. Good thing we fired McCoy. Much cleaner offense now.

  • Steven_Searls

Dolphins could just run every play from here on in. We aren’t making a comeback.

    • DCJ1

I just want to see one Cutlerception. Please?

      • Brian

        Boom

        • DCJ1

          Thank you football gods.

  • Brian

Vance Joseph, in his final year as head coach.

  • Steven_Searls

    Finally some offense.

  • InSiemianWeTrust

At work so unfortunately (or fortunately?) not watching this monstrosity, but how do we feel about Cousins/Chad Kelly, and first 2 round Olinemen?

    • Steven_Searls

      You had me at Cousins.

    • Yahmule

I don’t necessarily want to pick a lineman in round two. We have enough weaknesses in other areas to address and Cousins has demonstrated he can play effectively behind guys signed in the parking lot three hours before kickoff. Love Cousins and Nelson or McGlinchey, though.

      • InSiemianWeTrust

        That’s fair.
        1 OL
        2 TE
        3 RB/ILB

        • Yahmule

I think there might be some high quality NT or 3-4 DE’s available in that high second round area.

We are looking at a major weakness up front if Wolfe decides he’s had enough.

  • RSH

There is the Jay Cutler Pick-Six that we have been waiting for! And that Justin Simmons guy sure sucks.

  • Russ

That should be a penalty on Miami for swatting the ball out of Simmons hands in the end zone

    • Brian

      And it was

      • Russ

I was already typing it when the flag came out, but figured I’d just submit it anyway.

    • diningerj

      Correct – got the call

  • Alaskan

Reading all the comments about VJ looking clueless on the sideline reminds me of what Woody said about McCartney up in Boulder. Woody said he always looked like a guy wandering the sideline looking for lost coins.

  • ElwayIsGod7

Are we allowed to take the ball into that painted area like that?

    • DCJ1

Apparently. I thought for a second that’s why they threw the flag…

  • Brian

Lolz… can we ask Miami to run a play from the 2 for the 2 pt conversion attempt?

  • Jeremy

Jay Cutler doesn’t careeeeeeeeeee to chase Justin Simmons.

  • Russ

Was that delay of game on purpose?

  • Brian

    Onside kick

    • DCJ1

They did, but it wasted the field position.

      • Brian

        40 vs 25 maybe

        • DCJ1

Pop up kick to the 10 or 15 would have been a lot better than giving them the 39 for free. Insides kick was a Madden call, not a strategic call.

      • Laces Out

Mia avg start is their 43. Olivo unit is a disaster couoled with a QB nightmare and minus 18 TO ratio is hard to think we will win another game

  • InSiemianWeTrust

    Jets tied with KC

  • Laces Out

There’s that pick-six for 31 you were talking about Yahmule, him being capable of

  • Steven_Searls

    Fight club!

    • Laces Out

      Discipline is HS level

  • Royalwithcheese

Delay on a kickoff. Never seen it before.

    • DCJ1

Our special teams coach is incredibly innovative.

  • Jeremy

Subtlety not a skill of this ST unit

  • RSH

Von Miller has been a demon against the run today.

    • SterlingMalloryArcher

      Almost always.

  • Steven_Searls

    Von still balling.

  • Yahmule

Rarely is gelatinous used as a complimentary descriptor.

  • Forrest Trump

Is Schlereth relentlessly critical of everybody, or does he save up a little special for Denverr?

    • SterlingMalloryArcher

He’s brutally honest, and he’s playing it up for TV.

    • Yahmule

He’s a just a tedious guy. Still despises Shanahan to this day.

  • Steven_Searls

But Cutler make sure a play. Was that zone again?

    • RSH

That was man. Broncos brought multiple rushers.

  • Brian

If I were on the bronco sideline I’d have shouldered stills on that play

    • DCJ1

      He’s a punk apparently.

  • RSH

Well, the glimmer of hope was fun for the minute it lasted.

    • Jeremy

Hey, We’ve lead for a total of 12 minutes during the past 8 games. At least we haven’t lost any heartbreakers…

  • Steven_Searls

That was second running TD for the year for Miami.

  • RSH

Brandon Marshall defended that run about as poorly as possible.

    • Laces Out

      Hes an arm tackler

    • Royalwithcheese

      Beat me to it.

  • Steven_Searls

Stew is past his. Buy/sell date.

    • He’s being asked to play out of his comfort role.

    • Royalwithcheese

      He got old so fast.

  • Why isn’t Kerr in?!

    • Jeremy

      Men that large need rest

  • Brian

Taylor may not be a fa option.

  • Yahmule

    Shitty Stat ‘O’ The Day

Miami’s 26 points is the second most they’ve scored in a game this season.

    • Russ

But their offense has only scored 19

      • Royalwithcheese

        17!

        • Russ

          Oh yeah!

  • Laces Out

    Sloter could do this

    • More Cow Bell

You just had to go there

      • Laces Out

He could do this in practice or season..he outplayed thrse 3 qbs in preseason albeit against b teamers but we are b teamers

  • Royalwithcheese

    Peterman in for Taylor.

  • Forrest Trump

    Stop the fight!

  • Jeremy

A lot of Broncos look like they want to be anywhere but on the field right now. Can’t say I blame them.

  • DCJ1

On the past two kicks, Fowler has blown his coverage by going straight at the returner from too far away.

    • Yahmule

Hey, you’re only taught to maintain lane discipline down the field when you’re 12. Maybe he forgot.

    • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

I was noticing that. Contain has been horrible on punt coverage.

  • Steven_Searls

    Time to sign Kap.

    • RSH

For what? The season is lost.

      • Steven_Searls

        For the hell of it.

        • BlackKnigh

Now would be a good time to have him audition for the job in live action. If he lives ’til the end of the season playing every down- and actually ignites the offense – he has the job.

  • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

Jesus, this is rough. I almost think I’d rather be listening to Linkin Park cutting myself right now, to see if I can still feel. #WeDidntTrySoHard

    • RSH

In the end, it doesn’t even matter.

      • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

        Lmao.

  • Brian

We got em right where we want em

  • Laces Out

    EMFM

GET IT DONE ELWAY, draft a qb no 2 or 3

    • Russ

      EMFM…Please no.

      • Laces Out

It would definitely make us competitive

        • SterlingMalloryArcher

At his peak Eli was barely above average, and we are well past his peak.

          • Laces Out

            Who do you like sma?

          • SterlingMalloryArcher

Give me Kirk Cousins and a draft pick to develop.

          • SterlingMalloryArcher

That’s going to make for a crowded QB room, so Siemian and Osweiler are likely out. Chad Kelly and Paxton Lynch can compete for the #2/3 job with the rookie.

          • Laces Out

            Theyre gone anyway

          • Laces Out

That’s expensive and hes young…id go for an older vet with the dp

        • Russ

I’m ok with agreeing to disagree.

          • Laces Out

We do need a vet to tide us over…not seeing ts or Brock back…lynch is all thumbs

  • Brian

    Sweet! A wr reception!

  • Jeremy

Does anyone know if Taylor was benched or injured? Peterman has avoided picks, but he’s 3/9

    • Yahmule

      I’ll text my Bills friend.

      • Yahmule

Hurt his knee on the first play of the game.

        • Jeremy

Dang. Gritted it out for a while.

    • Brian

      Knee injury. Carted off

  • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

    STFU STINK!!

    • Laces Out

      Stfu you fuckin stink STINK!

      • BlackKnigh

I didn’t hear what he said – but I wonder if he forgot that he was playing next to a All Pro Hall of Famer Gary Zimmerman at LT when he played in Denver. Plus Elway was his QB. Put those OL guys in front of Siemian – and you would see some different results. But then – he is yelling so he gets good ratings. What he actually feels may be different.

  • RSH

Miami’s average starting field position today is the Denver 43? Is this correct?

    • SterlingMalloryArcher

      Sounds about right.

    • Laces Out

Was about 38 last I saw but collegiate numbers yes

  • Laces Out

Think VJ survives the yr guys?

    • SterlingMalloryArcher

Probably, but I don’t think it’s guaranteed he’ll be back next year.

    • Russ

If I had to peg Elway’s MO, I’d bet he either fires him a game or two before the end of the year, or during the offseason.

      • Laces Out

Think so too. Too far gone

    • BlackKnigh

He has shown today again that he is not a HC. Bad decisions. Needs more experience as a coordinator before being a HC again. He needs to go IMO.

      • QDoc

I’m all for continuity. Don’t be like the Browns. Having said that, you need to know when you fucked up a hire and need to try again. Cut your losses early. This might be one of those times.

        • BlackKnigh

Really dumb decisions – such as the onside kick that early in the game that eventually resulted in a Miami TD. They should have made the Dolphins go the length of the field. Then the fake punt way back in the Buffalo game. It wasn’t even executed well.
I see the team unprepared and playing under their abilities. Especially the offense.

    • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

He’s got about the same chance of surviving as a fart in a windstorm.

      • Laces Out

        You are hilarious!

    • RSH

Doesn’t matter unless we can get a proven, disciplinarian head coach.

      • BlackKnigh

Ben McAdoo might be available soon. Sorry – couldn’t resist….

        • Yahmule

When you fire your head coach frequently, pretty soon you only get to pick from the Ben McAdoo bin.

          • Jeremy

When we searched in 2010, John Fox was the only non-McAdoo choice we had, and we are damn lucky we were able to get him.

        • John

Check this out: Ben McAdoo was a Bronco fan growing up. I know because he used to work at the Y in my town 20 years ago (when he was in college) as a personal trainer. He was a nice guy back then, but I don’t think I would want him as HC.

          • BlackKnigh

I was joking. I agree – do not want him as HC. I don’t think I would want him anywhere near the locker room or the field.

  • RSH

    A third down conversion. It’s a miracle!

    • SterlingMalloryArcher

      Jeebus.

    • Laces Out

      1/12?

  • Jeremy

49ers are gonna beat Chi. Not sure if that’s good or bad for us.

    • Yahmule

Bears have Bengals, Lions, Browns and Vikings left. Probably 1-3, but they’re probably Cleveland’s only chance to avoid 0-16, so they’ll be fired up for Fox and friends.

  • Brian

    Wow

  • RSH

Just line up Cody Latimer at QB and run the option the rest of the game.

  • diningerj

Miami loves the tip drill clinic the Broncos have provided

  • Jeremy

I haven’t heard Langely come up all day. Not sure if that is because he’s played less and the Coaches have given him more help, or because he’s playing better.

    • Brian

I thought Simmons was getting the nickel work…

    • Simmons is playing as 3rd corner and Parks and Stew as primary safeties. Simmons was on Stills on the TD…

      • Jeremy

Well damnit. Was hoping that was a bright spot but I guess not

        • SterlingMalloryArcher

Simmons is bright spot. He’s played well. Nice to see that kind of versatility.

          • Jeremy

            That’s true.

          • SterlingMalloryArcher

He got burned on the last score but has been pretty solid otherwise.

  • Russ

Jeeze. We are literally, without pretense, getting blown the fuck out by Miami. Ugh.

    • RSH

After all, we are playing in Hard Rock Bottom Stadium.

  • SterlingMalloryArcher

It’s time to just scrap the QBs altogether and wildcat the offense. Something reminiscent of a 7th grade game plan.

    • RSH

Yup. No more passes the rest of the game.

    • Laces Out

Jordan Taylor ran that HS but hes inactive

    • Andrew

Remember when people were talking about extending Siemian around here? Lol

  • BlackKnigh

I am seeing the game through the eyes of Dave Logan. I had a chance to watch the game with my Miami Dolphin friend – but thought I should stay home. Glad I did. Depressing enough to just listen.

  • Jeremy

I talked about going to this game with a friend. Glad I didn’t

  • Royalwithcheese

    They just did that???

  • Russ

Now I want to punch Adam Gase in the throat.

    • DCJ1

WTF. This is now into the total asshole realm.

    • Brian

Why? No worse than the Andy Reid jump pass. Plus better chance of Denver score with d on field!

  • Did the Dolphins really just kick it onside?! Pricks. But VJ/Olivo had no clue it was coming… both should be canned tonight.

  • RSH

Wow. No one respects us. An onside kick? The Dolphins are running onside kicks up 33 to 9?

    • Jeremy

Even weirder since it’s Gase against his former DC VJ.

  • Royalwithcheese

On the TD, did Simmons get beat in man coverage? Did anyone see what happened?

  • Yahmule

THESE MOTHERFUCKERS ONSIDE KICKED UP 33-9. SUCK MY MOTHERFUCKING DICK, GASE.

    • diningerj

Tell us how you really feel????????

    • Laces Out

Brian will you it was a good play tard sauce fuck..got his Cuntler jersey on today

    • SterlingMalloryArcher

Is he trying to stick it to Elway? Joseph?

      • RSH

Probably Elway since he did not get the head coaching job.

  • Royalwithcheese

    That’s classless.

  • RSH

I am glad Shelby Harris did that. EFF YOU, JAY.

  • Brian

Need to bring all 11 on the punt

  • Royalwithcheese

So they’re playing Simmons at CB instead of Langley?

    • Brian

      Yes

  • Brian

    Lolz

  • Jeremy

Two Safeties in one game. Has to be another record.

  • diningerj

    MOTHER FUCK!!!!!!

  • More Cow Bell

    why is 84 on team?

  • WTF is MacKenzie playing today?!

    • Laces Out

      THERE IT IS!

  • Laces Out

Uncle Rico where you at on the 84!?

  • DCJ1

Jesus Christ. Why is he even on the team at all.

  • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

    Wow.

  • Royalwithcheese

    Seeya to Olivo and McKenzie.

    • Laces Out

And VJ for allowing it. Fuckin dumb

      • RSH

And Elway for making it all happen?

        • Laces Out

You bet but I dont think he says who plays every Sunday but he deserves a lot of credit

    • SterlingMalloryArcher

McKenzie is explosive. Ball security can be taught. Tiki Barber changed his entire career trajectory by learning how to protect the ball.

      • gnasses

Can better decision making and better instincts be taught?

  • RSH

This is like an early Saturday morning sports bloopers show from the 1980s all in one game.

  • Russ

That’s the look of a man (84) who knows he’s played his last game in a Bronco uniform.

    • diningerj

      I certainly hope so…..

    • DCJ1

Is surprised no one has punched him in the face.

    • gnasses

Last game ever, maybe. PR is a commodity.

  • diningerj

VJ and Olivio need to call Uber now, no room on the team jet for those 2…

  • He’s just too damn small and weak. Can’t hack it in NFL, sorry bud. Whoever keeps playing him VJ/Olivo should also be shown the door.

  • Field punt at 4. Lose yards. Fumble for the 6th time. Post resume on Indeed.

    • Jeremy

I worked with a few guys who used to play in the NFL. Always fun to see them describe their NFL experience on LinkedIn

  • Russ

I think many of us (I include myself) were hoping the Broncos would lose to secure a better draft pick. But you would have liked to have seen them put up at least a little bit of a fight. This team couldn’t beat the Browns.

  • Hank Mardukis

    Does Joseph survive the night?

    • Brian

I can’t see how. I don’t think they needed a win here, but an embarrassment does not work.

      • Andrew

Long stretch of embarrassments going on right now too.

  • QDoc

I think the PR safety is the singular play that encapsulates our season.

    • Laces Out

How about the over the head snap throwback safety!?

  • Royalwithcheese

Let’s not lose sight of the fact that they cut Doss and Langley is so bad they have to play Simmons at CB.

    • SterlingMalloryArcher

I think it’s more because Simmons is pretty dang good.

      • Andrew

Simmons, Gotsis, and Bolles at least appear to have been hits on draft picks.

      • Brian

I don’t mind giving Simmons a look in the slot/nickel role, but should probably give Langley the rest of the game for CHJ. Still need take on him

    • Royalwithcheese

What I’m saying is, this is on Elway too.

      • Don’t you think the call to play Simmons at CB is VJ/Woods thinking they’re smart?!

        • Royalwithcheese

And because Langley stinks. As a third round pick.

      • Andrew

He chose this staff and has had a lot of draft misses not calling for his head, but he shares a lot of blame no doubt.

      • Jeremy

Why do people feel the need to say this. Of fucking course it’s also on Elway. He’s the GM. He hires the coaches, he signs free agents, and he makes the draft picks.

        • Jason

I really don’t understand the underlying narrative that Elway doesn’t realize this is his responsibility. I guess folks would feel better if he was constantly tweeting about his screw ups?

          • Yahmule

He created that narrative. but yeah, they’re playing way better since that pep talk.

          • Jason

How did he create the narrative?

  • RSH

    #noringzdan

    • Laces Out

      Brutal

      • RSH

        My only solace today. 🙁

  • More Cow Bell

84 still receiving punts. unfucking real.

  • RSH

Why are we playing Jamaal Charles in garbage time?

    • Royalwithcheese

      Exactly why they signed him!

    • SterlingMalloryArcher

They have no plans of keeping him around. I think it may be CJ, Booker, and De’Angelo Henderson next year. They’ll probably draft one too, and if they like the pick enough CJ will get cut.

      • RSH

But why in garbage time? Makes no sense. They should just waive him at this time.

        • SterlingMalloryArcher

Maybe, but they’d still have to write him the checks.

  • Jeremy

    Chiefs self destructing.

    • RSH

Chargers are going to win the AFC West.

      • Laces Out

That is not a fantastic accomplishment it sounds like

      • Yahmule

Good. Tired of those fuckers drafting in the teens or lower.

      • DCJ1

Followed by a one and done in the playoff, with Rivers retiring from frustration.

    • Laces Out

Sounds great thanks for the update

    • Jeremy

Marcus peters threw a flag into the stands. Apparently refs don’t have spare flags…

  • Yahmule

John still with the chewing tobacco.

    • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

Ugh. I have nightmares from when I chewed.

      • Yahmule

He’s been doing it for over 40 years now.

        • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

He used to have fat ass dips in when he would be on the Denver huddle. He would also have like three or four beers.

        • Andrew

Crazy I did for a few years when I was 18 or so and my stomach was hurting enough to quit for life cold turkey.

      • BlackKnigh

I lasted about 20 seconds when I did my first chew. Spit it out.

        • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

          Same story with most people.

          • BlackKnigh

            Thanks. I thought I was a wimp.

          • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

            Lol

  • Hank Mardukis

Harbaugh and Darnold would soothe the pain of this season.

    • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

      Which Harbaugh?

      • Laces Out

        Either

        • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

I realized it was a rhetorical question right about the time I hit post.

  • RSH

Why not get Charles involved earlier in the game?

    • Jeremy

We should try to get an AMA with Vance Joseph so we can get all these questions answered.

    • Laces Out

Exactly some of the worst coaching ever. Poor fundamentals playing a guy like Charles in the fourth quarter garbage time. The other team is pulling their quarterback cuz they’re kicking your ass so hard and you have number 58 in there just waiting to pull a torn ACL in garbage time? It’s complete f****** Idiocracy

  • RSH

The football gods are mad at us.

  • BlackKnigh

CJ had 107 total yards today. One of the few bright spots.

  • Taking a timeout?! Even with Gase’s BS today this is wrong and embarrassing.

    • Russ

      I say fuck Gase.

  • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

Adam Gase, you’re a pissy little bitch!

    • Nick

I lost a lot of respect for Gase for that bushleague decision. He and Joseph know each other of course, so I’ll wait to see how Joseph reacts before casting final judgment.

      • Jeremy

Not much you can say if you are Joseph.

      • Yahmule

Did he think we were going to fire Kubes coming off a Super Bowl win to keep him?

        • Jeremy

Gase left after 2014, not 2015.

          • Yahmule

Maybe he thought he deserved the job over Gary initially. I don’t think a rookie coach could have finessed a championship out of that team.

          • BlackKnigh

I am seeing more how Kubes did such an outstanding job getting a SB win with these guys.

          • Yahmule

He really handled the Peyton/Oz thing masterfully.

      • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

He just reeks of Josh McDaniels. I didn’t like the way he handled himself during some press conferences earlier this year either. I remember after last year I thought we should’ve kept him in the house. Not any more. I do think he will be a good head coach one day, though. He has some maturing to do.

        • Yahmule

He dumped a bunch of talent, ripped them publicly, then acted all vindicated when his team lost a bunch of game in a row. He can kiss the hairiest part of my ass.

        • BlackKnigh

He got rid of Ajaji (sp?) for a 4th round pick. What an idiot! Yeah – what Yahmule says about him is spot on!

  • Another TO… after the sack?! Ha, idiots.

    • Russ

I like it. Sends a message to Gase. Sends a message to the players.

  • Jeremy

    Chiefs lose.

    • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

What a horrible year to not be 9-7?!

      • Jeremy

Chiefs would have a 7-8 game losing streak of their own if not for us.

      • Nick

It’s kind of like 2011 except while everything went the Broncos’ way that year, everything’s going against them.

        • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

Honestly, I think Tebow would be running a better offense than what we are seeing right now. At least he didn’t turn the ball over as much, and his run threat would open up the running game.

          • gnasses

Tebow at QB, zero passing attempts, Broncos win this game. That is sad.

    • Nick

Only good thing I can think of to add onto this is that these two teams both gave up over 30 points against each other…and they’re the Broncos’ final two home opponents. A chance to keep the non-shutout streak at home alive.

  • RSH

That was one awful pissing contest.

  • Nick
  • Laces Out

Do you think Joe Bucks facial hair are hair plugs too!?

You know he had an addiction

    • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

His confession was pretty funny to read. I actually met him in Cabo San Lucas one time. He was a really nice guy. Let us all take our pictures with him.

      • Rob Rooney

So how did his hair look up close? Asking for a friend…

        • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

It was before he came out and admitted the transplant thing, so I didn’t pay attention or, think to look. Obviously, if I met him now, it would be the first thing I would look for. It’s pretty noticeable on Hi- DEF.

          • Yahmule

Weird that anybody gets bad plugs anymore.

          • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

That would probably be true if he started now. I think he started getting transplants along time ago, back when they had much worse techniques, and his scalp turned into a science project. Bald men today can rejoice, that as a worst-case scenario, you can at least look like Nicolas Cage.

    • RSH

      Wait. Hair transplantation is addictive?

  • Yahmule

My sincere well wishes to everybody who hung in there and watched this whole game.

    • Laces Out

      Likewise sir

    • RSH

It was rough, but we will get through this. We have had tremendous success and much tougher heartbreaks to endure as a fan base.

  • DCJ1

So, this is a contender for the worst game of the season. Not sure if it is worse than the Chargers shutout or not. But, as frustrating as this season has been, it is far from the worst some of us guys have seen…

    • Nick

One possible mitigating factor is that the Broncos are historically terrible in Miami. I think I had this marked as an L even back in the optimistic month of August.

      • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

        Except for in 2011 😉

        • Nick

Oh I definitely had that marked as an L in August 2011.

          • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

So many improbable wins that year. I don’t think anybody thought we were going to win that game until the very last play. Watching John Elway growing up, I was able to witness some pretty crazy come back’s. I thought the 19 to 6 game against the Chiefs would always go down as one of the biggest. After the Bears game in 2011, I was compelled to go to church.

          • Nick

I was in Seattle with some friends when I watched that game, and I immediately recited Jules’s divine intervention speech when someone accused the Broncos of getting lucky.

          • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

Back then, I used to have a pretty big gathering of bronco friends that would all watch the game at my house on Sundays. After that game, we were all just speechless.

    • Yahmule

I think this is rock bottom. Miami is a terrible team. So much bumbling and football follies type crap in this game.

    • Rob Rooney

For some reason games like this aren’t too bad to take this year. Maybe it is the expectation, but you could tell we were going to lose early and you accept it. This year has just felt bad

I still haven’t accepted the loss to the Ravens in the 2012 playoffs and I don’t know that I ever will. Aside from being there, I think it hurts more when you know you can win and know you should win, but don’t.

When you get a beating like this you go numb early and ride it out.

One nice thing about this year is the last game will be on 12/31 of 2017. So 2018 gets a fresh start!

  • RSH

I had to take my Broncos’ flag inside after that performance. If there was a way to post it at half-mast in my btacket, I would have.

    • Rob Rooney

You need to put up a SB50 champs flag. That is good FOREVER!

      • RSH

I have one. I will fly it during the playoffs to remind me of the recent success.

    • DCJ1

There’s someone over in Torrance who’s had a 6’ Broncos logo mounted above his garage. Drove by yesterday and he’d taken it down for Christmas decorations. I got to think if our record were reversed, Santa wouldn’t have been able to grab the place of honor…

  • RSH
  • Yahmule

And the fucking Giants already looking for a soft place to lie down, the pricks.

  • Yahmule

Cam someone explain to me how dumb fuck doesn’t get ejected for this? Flying elbow into the back of a guy’s head while he’s on the ground and has no idea it’s coming? I hope his fucking knee explodes next week.

    December 3, 2017

    • Rob Rooney

Maybe there will be a fine or suspension if the league reviews it. Intent looks to be there but a lot of time this is punished after the fact.

    • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

He has a long future in the WWE

    • RSH

I hope the Patriots and their fans get to experience a season like ours very soon. I hope that they get back to sucking like they did from 1989 to 1992.

  • RSH
    • BlackKnigh

Chris Harris – a guy who always comes to play – and play hard every play.

    • G Mik

Anyone know the details of the acrimony between Elway and Gase?

      • Nick

If it exists (and we still have to be careful with that), the obvious answer is fallout over firing Fox.

      • RSH

I am sure Gase’s feelings were hurt when Elway hired Gary Kubiak instead of him as head coach.

        • Jeremy

I guess that explains why he had such kind words for Joseph this week but still felt the need to do that

  • RSH
  • Yahmule

Saints/Panthers way better game, but I have to watch some Geno series today.

  • Yahmule

90 years ago, they didn’t mince words if you sucked.

    December 3, 2017

    • RSH

      Signed,

      The Broncos Fan Base Today

  • Yahmule

    Darkwing Duck ties it up.

  • Royalwithcheese
  • BlackKnigh

I did not see the game. How did Denver’s OL do today?

    • Nick

Bad. I thought they clearly missed Ron Leary, and his absence better damn well seal the deal on a 3rd round comp pick to make that absence worth it.

      • BlackKnigh

        Thanks, Nick.

      • DCJ1

I thought McGovern showed promise in the run game. Not so good in pass protection. Stephenson sucked hard.

      • Jeremy

Do we need another missed game to lock up that 3rd round pick?

        • Nick

I’m guessing no, but I really have no way of guessing with high confidence until the regular season is over.

    • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

You should’ve just ended your sentence at “I did not see the game”, and been happy with your decision.

    • Royalwithcheese

I thought the run blocking was strong the first couple of possessions. Fell apart after that.

  • Nick

This should become as cherished of a tradition as Red Wings fans throwing an octopus on the ice.

    https://twitter.com/LacesOutShow/status/937410718168739840

    • DCJ1

Gotta love the “I ain’t touching that” attitude of the chain gang guy.

      • Yahmule

Damn straight. No way of knowing how they smuggled that into the stadium.

        • DCJ1

          Or who…

  • RSH
  • RSH

Drew Brees goes through his progressions to perfection. No way he leaves the Big Easy.

  • RSH

Taysom Hill, one of the Saints’ backup quarterbacks, is balling on special teams today.

    • Nick

He was a pretty good baller at BYU.

      • RSH

        Just couldn’t stay healthy.

  • Yahmule

Saints have a backup quarterback covering kickoffs. Haven’t seen that since Thiesmann was a rookie.

    • RSH

Dude. This is like the second or third time that we have simultaneously posted the same thought.

      • Yahmule

I feel like I’m keeping good company.

    • Jeremy

      Tebow?

  • RSH

The Saints’ improvement this season should give John Elway reason for hope, reflection, and motivation.

    • Yahmule

Their 2017 draft haul might eventually measure up with some of the all time great Steeler, Niner or Cowboy drafts, IMO.

  • RSH

    C-Mac for six.

  • Royalwithcheese

Will Bortles play well enough to make the Jags pick up his option?

    • RSH

As long as we don’t sign him, I’m good.

    • Nick

Nitpick, but they already picked it up. They have to decide whether or not to cut him before the option becomes guaranteed. They’ll do a good job pissing away a comp pick opportunity if they do cut him.

      • Royalwithcheese

Ah, thanks. I didn’t realize that.

  • RSH

My heart aches watching C-Mac and Kamara in this game.

  • Royalwithcheese

So KC benched Revision today. Strong signing.

  • RSH
  • RSH

This explains Jamaal Charles’s garbage time touches today. I still hope to see De’Angelo Henderson active next Sunday.

    https://twitter.com/troyrenck/status/937452059170869249

    • FloydLittle44

Trevor also had a bad case of the flu.

  • QDoc

Any bets on if Musgrave gets his second promotion within a month?

    • RSH

I think that it would be Studesville again, if a change is made.

      • QDoc

        I’d be okay with that.

  • Yahmule

Five flags on this punt return and they may all be for different penalties.

  • Jeremy

At this point of the season, I’m used to looking at standings, opponents schedules and tie breaking procedures to make the playoffs. It fucking sucks when you are doing that to try and see where in the top 5 your pick will be.

I’m going to the game next week with my sister (it’ll be her first game) and it sucks this is the context. God fucking damnit.

    • Nick

I went through this sad moment when I realized that one of my (supposed to be!) annual article series wouldn’t happen this season.

    • RSH

And what looked like a sure win months ago, will more than likely be a loss.

  • Jeremy

Who do you start at QB next week? For the first time maybe ever, I don’t even have an opinion. I guess throw Osweiler back out there and give him his 2nd chance

    • Nick

If Lynch is healthy, he starts.
      If he’s not, [shrug symbol].

      • BlackKnigh

I hope PL is ready to go. Nothing else makes any sense – unless Elway talks the Giants into cutting Manning and having a go at him.

      • Rob Rooney

Have to agree. Lynch if healthy, pick either TS or Os for the rest of the year as the other guy and stick with it. I don’t think it matters at this point but we need Lynch to play if possible and then to play the other guy win or lose if Lynch isn’t ready. There is no need any more to go back and forth.

    • Royalwithcheese

Probably Os. I think TS is broken beyond repair.

    • pubkeeper

Whoever gives them the best chance to lose.

      • Jeremy

Jordan Taylor if that’s the case.

        • pubkeeper

Are you sure? Seriously, could he do worse than what we saw today?

          • Laces Out

            Dont think so

  • Royalwithcheese

Dion Lewis is someone I hope is on the Broncos radar. No idea what kind of contract he would command.

  • RSH
    • QDoc

Harris balled out today. Good find.

      • Nick

Harris will also only be earning his 2nd accrued season, so they can cheaply squat on him as an ERFA for 2018 and as an RFA for 2019. Great find.

        • Royalwithcheese

Finding Harris makes the Walker pick more palatable, until I think about the players they could’ve had.

          • pubkeeper

Yeah watching Kamara right now almost makes me cry.

          • Yahmule

JuJu, Dawkins, Kupp, Dalvin Tomlinson and so many more.

    • Laces Out

      Best attitude possible…

  • Nick

So a little introspection from me:

Likely like many of you, I was very angry by 2 PM MT and not much in the mood to talk NFL. But by around 3:30, that all went away. Hell, I’ve been tweeting with Jason on some contract stuff as you can tell on my account. Thinking about it, I’m nowhere near as disappointed in the 2017 Broncos as I was in the 2010 Broncos. That year was far, far worse: a much greater lack in overall talent and much less stability in the front office. But now, they’re two years off a Super Bowl, the front office remains top tier, and there’s a wide talent base to improve upon. I’m far more optimistic now than then, and that must help as to why I’ve chilled out so quickly today.

    • Royalwithcheese

Not sure we can say top tier front office anymore, with the RT signings, poor draft selections and mismanagement of the QB position. But I agree that this team has a lot of talent.

    • QDoc

That just means you’ve successfully navigated the denial, anger, bartering, and depression stages. Yay!

    • Yahmule

The overall talent level on this team is far superior to what was left after Shanahan’s decline phase and whatever the fuck that was that Josh was doing.

    • RSH
      • Jeremy

People forget the Browns were 7-4 at one point in 2014.

      • Tyler

I expected better out of Hue Jackson.

        • Yahmule

Hard to win when your management is deliberately tanking and running away from premium talent like its radioactive. When they traded away Wentz, they acquired, and traded away, picks that were used on Jack Conklin and DeShaun Watson. Wentz, Watson and Conklin are way better than anybody on Cleveland’s roster who isn’t recently off suspension.

  • Jeremy

One more thing and then I’ll shut up.

When Siemian targeted our WRs, he was 6/24. When he targeted backs and TEs he was 13/16 (3/3 on TEs, 10/13 on RBs). Draw what ever conclusions you want about what that means for play calling, game scenarios we were in, QB ability, their defensive scheme and WR/TE/RB abilities.

    • QDoc

My conclusion: TS overthrew several open WRs and made even more inaccurate throws and bad decisions.

      • BlackKnigh

Last week he had great protection against the Raiders. Was Barbre sick? I thought sure they would keep him at RT.

      • DCJ1

I think there were some flat out drops that are on the WRs. Both Sanders and Thomas were having stone hands, and they also weren’t getting good separation. I’d say 75% bad throws by TS and 25% misses by the WRs.

      • Carsonic

His lack of accuracy was appalling. Any confidence I had in Siemian is gone. I really thought he was going to bring back the moxie in this game. I was worried about it being in Miami and about our defensive injuries, but thought ol’ Trev would come back in firing bullets. Instead, he kept hucking these ridiculous bombs that never hit their targets. Even the drops looked like they were off-target and challenging for the receivers, so I don’t really blame the WRs. Ugh.

    • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

I think a lot of those passes to the running backs and tight ends happened towards the end of the half and game when the defense was giving up the middle of the field so we would burn the clock.

  • RSH
  • Yahmule

Giants have nine first downs in the fourth quarter against that garbage Raider defense.

    • RSH

      Our division seriously blows.

      • Nick

My hope is that whoever the division champ is gets depantsed by the likes of Baltimore or Tennessee and we Broncos fans can continue to point out that the Broncos are the most recent AFC West team to win a playoff game.

        • Andrew

          KC won one last year.

          • Rob Rooney

Not last year. In 2015 they did but last year lost to Pitt in the divisional round at KC. They were the #2 seed, so they skipped the wild card week.

      • Yahmule

I meant nine total for the game, but Engram just caught a touchdown to cut the Raider lead to 17-14.

        • RSH

The Giants wish that they were in the AFC West this season.

    • Jeremy

The Paxton Lynch lead Broncos had 3 last week through 3 quarters

  • RSH
    • Steven_Searls

Shame to see it wasted on such a sick loss.

  • Rob Rooney
    • Jeremy

Miami CBs graded out very highly. Todd Davis and Adam Gotsis got high grades, along with the guys you’d expect.

    • FloydLittle44

      Jaw dropping OMG

  • Yahmule
  • RSH
  • Nick

I’m rooting for the Seahawks tonight because I really don’t want the Eagles to be in an situation where they could end up sitting their starters against the Raiders if they’ve clinched the #1 seed by then.

    • pubkeeper

      Can’t root for the Seahawks….

      • Laces Out

        Exactly. Ever

        • Nick

I’m calling bullshit on “ever”. I’ll be rooting for them even harder when they play the AFC West rivals next year.

          • Tyler

I suspect you like the hawks more than 99% of us here but even I may root for them against the AFC West. We’ll see how I feel next year.

          • Nick

It’d be nice to go back in time and see if early 1990s Broncos fans had these same kind of negative feelings against the 49ers.

          • WhirlingDervish

I still can’t root for the 9’ers… that was a highly traumatic experience for my 12 yro self who just moved to the Bay Area that summer… It’s the main reason I’m still a Bronco’s fan and didn’t turn into a 9’ers fan..

          • FarAwayBroncoFan

Of course. Because as Joe got old, they suddenly had Steve Young playing awesome. They were annoyingly ridiculous. Though now, I’m ambivalent. But the Raiders, I still hate, of course.

          • BlackKnigh

I remember the leg whip the 49er’s FB used on Mecklenburg early on in the SB. No – I did not like the Niners in those years.

          • pubkeeper

No, not like the giants and redskins. I knew we were way overmatched going into that drubbing.

          • FloydLittle44

It’s different with the Seabirds. Skins, Giants, 49ers were easier to get over. Dallas not so much, but their ordained NFL royalty status makes them easy to despise. But Seattle is in a category with the Patriots and Raiders.

          • Laces Out

Staying with ever… I don’t like being a position of pining for other teams to lose anyways I actually like to pull for the team just to win on its own my team

    • Rob Rooney

I’m pretty sure the Eagles could sit their starters and still beat the Raiders. Remember, Nick Foles threw 7 TD’s against them a few years ago!

      • Nick

Such a great memory. I still watch that and the monster day Doug Martin once had against them every now and then.

  • Yahmule

The Giants blatant tank job already bearing fruit. They jumped ahead of the Niners in the draft order today.

    • Royalwithcheese

      Browns, Giants. Darnold, Rosen.

After that, all bets are off.

  • Yahmule
  • RSH
    • Nick

I don’t fully understand how the Broncos are eliminated from AFC West contention, but I don’t care to find out either.

      • RSH

        So true.,

      • DCJ1

Broncos win out to 7-9. Raiders, Chiefs, and San Angeles all have 2-3 divisional games left, so there are at least three divisional wins to spread amongst them. In the unlikely chance they all get one divisional win, Denver loses on tie breakers.

        • Nick

Thanks for doing the work so I don’t have to.

          • DCJ1

You do more than enough around here 🙂

        • Laces Out

So…….youre telling me theres a chance!?

  • RSH

I have been saying this for months now.

    https://twitter.com/corryjoel/status/937486020664160256

    • Nick

Better answer is to fix the QB situation than to jettison proven WR talent, especially with no proven young talent behind them.

      • RSH

One of the many interesting storylines coming this offseason.

        • Royalwithcheese

I’ll be bummed if they get rid of either one, but it could definitely happen.

      • BlackKnigh

I agree. There will be some QBs who could fill the bill during the offseason. Also with a high draft pick. They also need to give the QB time to throw or do his thing behind the line. At least 2 high picks or good FAs on OL guys.

      • FloydLittle44

We came out of one of the greatest WR drafts ever with Corey Lattimore.

  • Royalwithcheese

If you’re Elway, do you start trying to extend Roby now?

    • Nick

Last week I said no. His play has still been too inconsistent at a premium pay position for my tastes.

      • Royalwithcheese

Haha, I already knew where you stood. 🙂

      • InSiemianWeTrust

Totally agree. Roby’s highs are high and lows are Atlantis.

    • More Cow Bell

If it follows previous events, it will go like this…lowball initial offer….hurt feelings…..media leaks……overpaying for talent you could have locked up if you left your ego at home.

    • Steven_Searls

      Yes

    • Laces Out

He looked better today to me than he has in a bit and he also has 3 d Tds in his tenure only Talib has more i think

    • pubkeeper

If I’m Elway, I wait until the market drives the price up, then try a last minute “hometown discount” type offer.

    • Nick

I’m likely not going to offer an opinion on coaching, but I hope that Kubiak will give Elway some insight on anything that may be going wrong in this department.

      • VJ is just lost in the job, he’s in way over his head. Didn’t even realize his team took a DOG penalty on onside kick, calling TOs with 11 and 4 seconds left in a blowout loss, dressing MacKenzie after Taylor did nothing but do his job. Plus an 8 game losing streak, which includes losses to 2 of the worst teams in the league. They are at the bottom.

        • Laces Out

They still have a chance to tie the McDumbfuck record of 4-12 though. This is uglier by the week..same feeling though I do think a QB changes everything

          • BlackKnigh

A QB and some protection for him.

    • Tyler

A week ago I thought it would be incredibly foolish to fire Joseph. After getting blown out by a very shitty dolphins team I’m not exactly calling for his job but I’m certainly open to it now.

      • RSH

I would be more open to a change at head coach, if there were better options to choose from.

        • Ya that’s an issue, but he’s just way in over his head. Many guys make good position coaches or coordinators but fail at managing the whole enterprise. The team is sloppy, unprepared and undisciplined. After Browns they are worst team in the league.

          • RSH

If you are going to pay two head coaches, you better have a significant, long-term upgrade, especially the way this franchise is churning through coaches.

          • Nick

My main concern against making Joseph one and done is that it could lead Elway to develop a Steinbrenner like reputation for having an itchy trigger finger. But I’ll listen to good evidence arguing that he’s not suited for the job if it’s out there.

          • Yahmule

That reputation already exists. Joseph was probably the runner up for head coach and defensive coordinator in 2015. One of the reasons we picked him over Shanahan was because Kyle wanted more autonomy.

          • Yahmule

Elway wanted to fire Fox after the sluggish non-effort in Super Bowl 48, but he knew he couldn’t do it.

          • Nick

The Fox firing was insulated with the immediate Super Bowl win with Kubiak. Doubtful that insulation would exist now if he cans Joseph after one season.

          • Laces Out

            Insulated from what? Fire?

          • BlackKnigh

Elway was extremely short-sighted in that assessment after SB 48. What did he expect with 5 defensive starters and his starting LT out? Plus Adam Gase insisted on pushing passing instead of running the hell out of the ball to keep the Seasquacks on their heels. Alex Gibbs lost that argument.

          • BlackKnigh

He IS in way over his head. Bad decisions: such as the onside kick in the 3rd qtr. Makes no sense. Not playing Taylor but playing McKenzie. This team is not a bad team IMO – it is simply very unprepared to play. They haven’t thought out the OL very well – especially when 2 good prospects are let go out the door – and we keep a guy like Stephenson. When a part of the team gets the air taken out of them after allowing a couple of TDs – that team is not prepared to play that day.
Not sure I have a solution that would work. There are former HCs who are coordinators in the league. I think for the immediate future – someone on the staff might have to run the team. Eric Studesville did a decent job in 2010 when McJedi was dismissed.

      • Nick

We could really use some more empirical data on what makes and doesn’t make a good coach. The people most qualified to comment (other coaches) are often loath to do so because they don’t want to call out one of their own profession.

      • DragonPie

        I find the question pointless.

      • Forrest Trump

The best HC on the planet maybe milks 8-8 out of the shit sandwich VJ was dealt on offense. Maybe.

  • Nick

This ought to light up the NY sports media tomorrow.

    https://twitter.com/MySportsUpdate/status/937490881195765761

    • RSH

How Rex Ryan has a job at ESPN while the likes of Ed Werder do not is beyond me.

  • VonSwenson
    • RSH

Good for this guy. I am far too much of a tightwad to ever do something like this.

      • Nick

69 is a highly useful number, seems like it would be cheap enough to change the nameplate when things go better.

      • Yahmule

Don’t think it’s commentary. Family Guy reference. Made in China.

        • RSH

Ohhhh, gotcha. I have not watched much Family Guy.

          • Laces Out

            You should fuckin hilarious

  • Yahmule

Two way ultra blue chip prospect Shohei Ohtani just snubbed the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets and Dodgers. Says he wants to play in a smaller market on the west coast. Mariner and Giants fans holding their breath right now.

    https://cbsboston.files.wordpress.com/2017/11/dl-shohei-ohtani.jpg

    • Nick

Do the Giants qualify as a small market? I suppose perhaps smaller than the four teams you listed.

      • Yahmule

If you think of it as just San Francisco and don’t lump it with Oakland and San Jose like they typically do when measuring TV markets and the like.

    • ESPN doesn’t list LAD among teams that are out, though there is a line about preferring a smaller market (and on West coast for sure).

      • Yahmule

I wonder when the Dodgers payroll will become a consideration. They’re already 20% higher than the next closest team. Darvish is a free agent which complicates things for them.

        • Don’t think they’ll the re-sign Darvish after the WS meltdown. If they are gonna throw that kind of money at a SP, should look at Arrieta… just gets it done better in big games.

          • Yahmule

I don’t think the Dodgers will make decisions based on tiny sample sizes. Darvish has been a better and more consistent pitcher throughout his career. If there weren’t some durability concerns for Darvish, I wouldn’t even consider them as comps. Arrieta had a terrific season and a half and has been mostly bailed out by the Cubs stellar defense the last couple of seasons. His FIP of 4.16 last year and diminishing K/BB ratio is more indicative of his talent level than that out of the blue Cy Young season (when Grienke and Kershaw split the Dodger vote).

          • Yahmule

This is a pretty decent little article explaining how well Arrieta’s skills pair with those of his teammates. His BABIP on groundballs with the Cubs is absurdly low, which is partially due to his ability to limit hard contact and partially due to the Cubs having a really good defense.

            https://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/jake-arrietas-weak-contact-and-strong-defenses/

    • DCJ1

San Diego fits that bill too…

      • Yahmule

The Padres are in a very slow rebuild. They been in the bottom of the league in payroll for a while and that won’t change soon since their best prospects are all still teenagers.

  • InSiemianWeTrust

Look at Goff and Gurley this year vs last year. Scheme is huge.

    • Yahmule

Fisher wants back into the league. I can’t see it happening. The fan backlash would be enormous.

      • RSH

I would die a thousand deaths.

        • Ya that would be bad. I’d give Jim Schwartz a 2nd shot at HC though.

I think there’s a chance Denver gets Harbaugh and Luck.

          • RSH

No on Jim Schwartz. He is too tied to his Wide Nine scheme. That would require a major overhaul on defense.

          • Laces Out

Nah this defense is headed for an oveehaul anyhow

          • RSH

I don’t think the defense needs the same overhaul as the offense and special teams. A 3-4 still suits their pass rushers and best defensive player best.

          • Laces Out

Youll see… we don’t have pass-rushers anymore we have one maybe two…. and we definitely are able to play man-to-man all game like we were especially with Talib not even in the game

          • RSH

Our pass rushers never get to rush with a lead. The offense’s ineptitude and special teams blunders have killed this team in more than just their respective phases.

          • Laces Out

True but being able to brush the passer without a lead is what defines you as a pass rusher. With a lead is like having an advantage. Von Miller still getting it done but there’s definitely drop off without DeMarcus Ware on the other side. Don’t get me wrong I’m all about your point of view I just think that there will be a lot more changes than all of us think at this point

          • Laces Out

That would be nasty w harbaugh luck…id take schwartz in a heartbeat

        • Yahmule

Elway’s too savvy to hire that dinosaur. He hired an old school guy named Bob Beers as his first Arena League head coach, mainly because the old jock was friends with Jack back in the day. He regretted it immediately and said how awkward it was firing him a year later.

I’m not sure what our worst case scenario is if we dumped Joseph. I don’t think the Bowlen’s or Ellis or whoever calls the shots is going to pay Vance to do nothing for three years. We’re talking about swallowing about like nine million bucks.

        • Yahmule

When I say fan backlash, I mean fans of any and every NFL team would take to Twitter quickly and voice their displeasure. The game will eventually pass every coach if they stick around long enough, but showing up for press conferences and not knowing (or pretending not to know) the names of players on the team you’re playing that week is simply unacceptable. Especially if you’re greatest claim to fame is going 7-9 all the time and trolling Daniel Snyder on a coin flip.

Thank you for the link. Sums it up pretty well. Lip service is all we get.

That Gronk BS might be the dirtiest thing I’ve ever seen on a football field.

    • Yahmule

He’ll get his wrist slapped, but that should warrant a multiple game suspension.

      • Royalwithcheese

Direct blow to the head of a guy on the ground? He should get 4 games.

EDIT: ok, 4 might be pushing it.

        • Yahmule

Sounds right to me. Probably won’t get anything. Martellus Bennett would be gone for the year and the subject of absolutely scathing opinion articles from every elderly sportswriter in America.

    • Laces Out

Reminded me of that cheap ass shot that bertuzzi put on moore and there were major repercussions for that for the victim. Unfortunately bertuzzi played again and went on with his coward ass life

      • Yahmule

That was more or less my final straw with the NHL. The whole league, including the Avalanche, basically circled the wagons to protect Bertuzzi and Steve Moore was treated like shit for having his career ended by an assault that would have gotten Bertuzzi sent to prison for 3-5 if it happened on the street.

    • RSH
    • Rileyrott

      I can’t agree more.

    • Nick

      Damn, petty if true.

      • Agreed. But VJ shouldn’t have met that level by calling TOs with 11 and 4 seconds left down 33-9.

        • RSH

He should have gone the Todd Haley route with a finger pointing at midfield after the game.
