TC is going to be fun watching those 2 [lay together and the other receivers with both Kelly and Keenum!

The Broncos reportedly want to bring back DeMarcus Ware, but not as a player

    https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/the-broncos-reportedly-want-to-bring-back-demarcus-ware-but-not-as-a-player/

According to a report from Mike Klis of 9 News in Denver, the Broncos have reached out to Ware (among others) to come to OTAs and training camp and help out with some pass-rushing instruction.

    • G Mik

Awesome news! I’d be surprised if he declined. He and Chubb are about the same size.

    • BlackKnigh

Ware will make these guy real performers! Thanks, Bradley!

Time to put a year’s salary on Denver to win it all.

    • Yahmule

More accurately, the calculates the public’s perception of each team’s relative strength. Vegas wants two way action.

    • Yahmule

This is why trading down with AZ was the best option if there had been a 2019 first rounder on the table.

If I gambled on Football I might take this seriously. Or not.

    • BlackKnigh

I wonder if this takes into account the pouting effect from Rothlesberger and Flacco?

  • Yahmule

Impressive interview. He looks very focused. Handled all the questions really well. I liked the smile that spread across his face when asked about the Bronco receivers.

He came across well. Hope he can keep it up and push hard to be CK’s back-up.

    • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

If he goes out and kills it, I’m totally shaving this curly q thing on the front of my head too! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/34c07afa24958f5b5d938f78eb8a08255545f38b4c525912133d9c809fcc246d.jpg

I’m not giving my widow’s peak any encouragement, thank you very much. ;~)

        • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

I’m not sure, but I think that might be “SWAG” or something.

          • Yahmule

It’s time the curlicue had its day in the sun.

      • Drewredux

So, say he outplays Keenum in camp and preseason. Do they let $18 mil ride the pine?

        • Alaskan

I doubt that happens. But, if VJ wants a third season, he plays whoever is the best QB.

          • Drewredux

I think Elway calls those shots.

          • Alaskan

Do you mean JE decides who is QB?
Or that JE decides when VJ goes?
Or both? No matter what, you’re probably right.

          • Drewredux

I think he would weigh in heavily at QB.

I got the impression that the Kubes departure was deeper than health issues. That Elway perhaps forced Pax on him and pressured him to play him.

          • Alaskan

            I can understand Kubes.
I practiced law in tall buildings for most of 40 years.
The last few years, I have practiced law by handling a few cases from an office in my house.
It is nice to still be involved without having to be full time.

The pressures on a HC must be enormous.
It must be nice for Kubes to be around football without having to be the guy.
I’m glad Elway brought him back.

          • BlackKnigh

I would say that it is a definite that JE pushed Pax on Kubes. I think Kubiak knew he was gone before the last game in 2016 – so he went out a winner. As he wanted to!

          • Drewredux

I think Elway understood that personnel played a big part in the disaster of ‘17.

Of course, I think coaching is overrated by fans and pundits.

John Fox, for example, has run the whole cycle from rock star to dinosaur twice now.

Give 99% of these guys the players, they’ll win. Ask them to consistently draw on an inside straight, and they will be bums.

          • G Mik

Kubiak with these guys goes 9-7. VJ was much worse than the 5-11 record we finished with. I’d argue with Peko our Defense was more talented even without Ward and our OLine was no worse than the prior year. Coaching matters in the NFL. Not as much in other professional sports but it does in the NFL.

          • Drewredux

VJ may well be part of the 1%,

Kubes did get a few more TS starts than VJ. Siemian isn’t good enough, bet he was the best guy in the room the last 2 years.

          • BlackKnigh

IMO – if VJ wants a 3rd season – he develops the run game and sticks to it with a balanced attack. That also means he has one mean tough OL.
And no stupid trick plays like last year in Buffalo. Simply make good decisions and play to win 60 minutes.

        • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

I think it would have to be very obvious that Kelly was the better QB. I don’t think we would, given how shitty Pax has been, but we could always trade Keenum with “minimal” dead money consequences. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/dce16f0c9bbce6aab171b8efc8fd561d0cebe642d3c58365c026ba9111a77812.jpg

          • Drewredux

Kelly was considered a low first round prospect up until the collision of injury and the dust up at the H.S. game.

If he has grown up, I can think of stranger things happening than Kelly out playing the rest of the QB room.

          • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

            My optimism is high.

          • Drewredux

They have a dynamic duo of edge rushers.

            Rock solid CBS.

            Maybe a TE.

Maybe a QB room that’ll push each other.

            Likely a slot receiver.

            Why not? 😀

          • WhoShotBobbyHumphrey

Now you’re smokin the right shit, Drew!!! 19-0 until we ain’t!

  • Drewredux

I think I got annoyed at Case Keenum a few weeks ago.

Long story short, a black Beamer basically assholed me on an on ramp. As he flew by with Texas plates, I could have swore the license plate said Keenum7. But, nah, I think.

Yesterday in Tulsa the mother of one of my daughters teammates approached me about my Broncos hat. She says, “Did you catch to the Keenum thing in Enid?” I guess he was the keynote speaker for some leadership council. Anyway, I had no clue he had ever been in town.

So I ask her what date it was and shit matches up.

I’m still not entirely convinced, but maybe it took all my restraint to avoid giving our new QB the finger. 😀

    • Yahmule

The Bronco not to flip off was Alzado. Between the roid rage and the road rage, you wanted to run red lights until he lost interest.

    • ohiobronco

I am sure you will feel like flipping him off one or two times in the fall even if he is doing well.

  • Yahmule

Glad to see this guy back in the majors. He practically begged the Rockies to resign him. Instead, their starting first baseman this season has an OBP of .219, the second lowest in MLB among 172 qualified hitters.

    May 14, 2018

    • BlackKnigh

He seemed to thrive last season with Colorado – yet they did not resign him. The year before with St Louis was forgettable. Strange why they did not keep him.
Glad to see him doing well as a Nat! He will help that team.

  • BlackKnigh

Chuck Knox passed away today. RIP. Ground Chuck had a lot of HC bouts in the NFL.
