Providing a home for those wishing to read and write insightful commentary on the Denver Broncos and more
Come on, you know, the one between Marcia and Jan.
So the Falcons now have company in the 28-3 club…
What’s this mean Nick?
Wild and entertaining game. Shame it was on so damn late.
Film breakdown of Osweiler’s first start.
Football is crazy. I never once suspected that one day I’d long for a healthy Chad Kelly, but here I find myself.
I’d hate to be responsible for digging out of the hole Elway has dug himself on the O side of the ball.
I’m excited to see what happens. No matter what, they should be adding a big-time talent behind center.
Unless he believes that Jim Kelly snow job about his nephew, and has now penciled in Chad Kelly to save the franchise.
Perhaps, but with this many good QBs coming out, you’ve got to think he wouldn’t waste this opportunity. There is no one on the roster that looks like a potential franchise QB.
I think they will want to partake in this class regardless of what else they do.
Thank God Rico is always around to find the dark underbelly of a thing. 🙂
He’s taking another brave stand against a seventh rounder.
Fight the power!
I’ve grown to find Rico’s pessimistic comments amusing, as I take them as a gimmick (I have other Broncos fan friends just like this) but your comment is F’n hilarious!
If there’s one thing that we should know about John Elway its that he has a big ego, and doesn’t like shit on his face. I have a feeling he is going to do whatever it takes to get us back to being a Super Bowl contender.
So they didn’t do this last week? Makes no sense. His strength is handing off, so let’s see 40 runs.
Health insurance for life seems reasonable. But buy or rent your own damn PJ, Roger. No wonder Jerry Jones is opposing the deal. Oh and $50M annually seems high, ha.
From last night: https://twitter.com/nfl_cfb/status/929586586894913538
Mayfield is Russell Wilson. Everyone who says they would’ve taken him in the first round gets a chance to prove it.
On Lamar Jackson, he’s already a better runner than Tyrod Taylor, and he’s a much better passer than TT was when he was drafted. Why wouldn’t you want that guy as your QB?
Bears and Packers will be playing in steady rain @ Soldier Field.
Here’s to playing like we did against Dallas minus the turnovers Denver had in that game. As I have been pounding the table all week for, let’s see this team run the ball 35 to 45 times tonight. Let’s get some easy completions with misdirection and the screen game. Let’s build on the improved special teams play from last week. Let’s see some more discipline and less penalties. Let’s get back to being stout against the run. Finally, let’s see Tom Brady on his back early and often and the No Fly Zone regaining its swagger.
Pats only team in NFL giving up over five yards a pop on the ground.
I guess that shoulder’s OK, huh? So basically everything he said is bullshit. Perfect Pat.
Bennett seems like perhaps the most overrated player of his generation.
Eventually, nobody wants to keep him on their team, and his production is wildly inconsistent and spotty. Yet he gets the clippings like he is in the Gronk class.
My choice for most overrated player of his generation would be Phillip Rivers. Without LaDainian Tomlinson, he is a sub-.500 QB, who has made the playoffs exactly once and never won more than nine games in a season. Chronic tantrums in crunch time do not transmit a winning vibe to your teammates and it’s evidenced by the Chargers preternatural history of choking away games late.
You have certainly forced me to rethink Phil. Maybe it’s the Rod Bernstein effect I had going on, because Rivers has put a fair share of daggers in the Broncos” heart.
Co-sign. The Eli Manning/Philip Rivers arguments are going to be insufferable when both are retired.
QBs who could be available in round 2: Stidham, Finley, Rudolph, Jackson, Falk, Allen.
One or two of these guys will go in the first, but the Broncos will have options if they wait on a QB, assuming all of these guys declare.
I think we all agree Mayfield/Rosen/Darnold are first round locks. Thorson might be as well. I could see Chase Litton sneaking into round two.
You really think Thorson goes in the first?
He is very well liked, including, from what I hear, by the Broncos. He’s pretty much all alone out there. Northwestern hasn’t had a player picked higher than round four in 13 years.
Just curious, where did you hear the Broncos have interest?
I can’t remember exactly. I know he went to the Manning Passing Academy over the summer (he idolizes Peyton and wears 18), so it must have been in an article about that. Can’t find it, though. I also could have him confused with another one of the dozen arms out there, but I could have sworn it was Thorson.
I imagine they’ll brutalize Mayfield under the microscope, so there is a puncher’s chance he’ll slide to early 2, too.
As long as he plays well at the Senior Bowl (assuming he actually goes), he’ll go in the first.
From FFB standpoint I’m thinking I’ll roll the dice with Emmanuel one more time, but maybe will sit CJ Anderson. So that CJ will naturally have a better game. Whatever I can do to help the Broncos!
(RBs I have to replace him would be …James White, tonight’s enemy, or Tevin Coleman, or Frank Gore if I use WR for flex.)No obviously great options.
But whatever I can do to help CJ!
Alvin Kamara might wind up having the best career of any back from the 2017 Draft.
Given that Kareem Hunt is also part of that draft, I would approve of that development.
Hunt is great, but he’s fallen off quite a bit in the last month.
Fournette looks excellent as well. Though his style may lead to an injury shortened career.
He is everything that was advertised. Glad to see Marrone and Coughlin drop the tough love on him last week, though.
I’ve got him on both my fantasy teams. His absence dropped me to 6-3 in one league. I weathered his absence in the other league, and am still undefeated in that league, but except for two other guys, the rest of the league is truly clueless, so it doesnt count as much (to me).
He’s on my best team. I have Fournette, Gurley, McCoy, Kamara, McKinnon on one team.
Nice. Yeah, my undefeated team has Fournette, Gordon, and Hunt. My recievers were great too, but their quarterbacks all went down…Jordy Nelson, Larry Fitzgerald, Deandre Hopkins and Mike Evans. My QBs are not very good, but come on. No way should I have a team that good. It’s kinda ridiculous.
Yeah, I’m counting about five top 25 picks there. :~)
I got crazy lucky in that draft. Picked sixth in a 10 team draft. Loaded up on backs early and then drafted every good slot receiver in the NFL. Dak/Kamara/Engram in 12/13/17 was where I really mined gold.
For sixth, thats awesome. Gurley really turned out to be a steal. In my ridiculous league, I actually drafted first, so I picked David Johnson. I got lucky that the rest of the league focused on quarterbacks early (dumb), so I still got a stable of great running backs.
My other league is an auction league, with IDPs, and much more savy owners. I’m lucky to be 6-3.
I love auctions. All my baseball teams will be auctions in ’18.
I like them too. Unfortunately, I play in a league with some (very patient) economists. I, buy a good squad early, then hang on for dear life (And dollar defenders) at the end of the draft. I’ve gotten good at identifying sleeper linebackers (Joe Schobert, Ramon Humber, Nick Vigil) because all the well known guys (Von, Watt, Kuechly, Wagner) are long gone by the time I can afford to go back in.
In my baseball auctions, Star ‘n’ Scrubs is the only approach I would ever recommend. Trying to spread the wealth is impossible because these guys consider price enforcement to be their sworn duty, and so do I. ;~)
Browns up 10-0!
Browns/Lions is the anti Michigan/Ohio State in so many ways.
Phil just got double lit up. Should have been a penalty.
I’m a big fan of Washington’s unis.
Brissett with a 60-yd TD pass.
Brissett don’t suck, so we can get Luck.
Would be nice, but there will be competition, more than likely. Will drive the price up too high (unless Denver wants to trade certain players away).
Big Ben with a typically small road effort so far.
Wasn’t impressed with that drop by AB either.
Bill Cowher just called the Chargers “San Diego”, and Gumbel noted how happy that made Trent Green.
LA County contains over 10,000,000 people. The Chargers can’t bring more than 25K into that stadium. That’s .0025 percent of the population.
And for many games, the majority of those sub-25k fans are rooting for the visiting team.
I really don’t like that it’s still against the rules to celebrate with the padding of the goalpost. Stefon Diggs got correctly but wrongly flagged for hugging it, just like Le’Veon Bell’s awesome punching bag celebration earlier in the season.
The Saints probably have two of the best twelve running backs in the NFL right now and Payton is creative enough to get the most out of both of them.
I’m not watching this game, and there’s a good reason why, I see:
Hilarious challenge by fox. Cunningham ruled out of bounds at 2 when diving for pylon. Fox challenged and they ruled inbounds and he lost control of ball before pylon. Touchback Green Bay ball. The fumble was very visible on replay. Fox challenged anyway.
What’s worth watching this morning?
I’m bouncing around, but Vikes/Washington seems like the best game.
You would think the game with 2 potential playoff teams (Bills vs Saints) would be the most eye-grabbing, but Im oddly gravitating towards the Detroit/Browns game.
Vikings /Redskins, saints / Buffalo, creepy, blurred out animal masturbation gifs from that Jungen Bungen guy, etc…
I’m sorry he stopped posting after that fairly minor faux pas. Seemed like a pretty good dude.
Who hasn’t woken up still drunk and said some weird shit they wish they could have taken back? I know I’ve been there.
Bill Vinovich’s crew has now had 3 calls overturned in MIN/WAS, and we’re still only in the 2nd quarter.
They should split that toxic crew up.
Burfict gonna Burfict.
Think it’s time for Marvin Lewis to be fired. Heck, if I was Mike Brown, I would completely clean house.
Vontaze Burfict selfishly leaves his team shorthanded again. On a real NFL team this idiot would have been cast off years ago.
November 12, 2017
Only thing keeping that from being peak Burfict is if instead of the double money sign he gave the double bird, just like the former owner of the team he was playing against often did:
Mike Brown settles for metaphorically flipping off Bengals fans.
I don’t think metaphor is the word I want, but too lazy to fix it.
Every time I watch the Vikes, Thielen sticks out.
Diggs is pretty good, too.
I could see the Vikes coming out of the NFC, even with the less than competent O line.
Browns made a HUGE error at the end of the second half. 12 seconds left, had no time outs left, 2nd down, 3 yards away from a TD. Kizer with a QB sneak. Doesnt get anywhere near close, Lions stay on top of him. Clock runs out.
Have to throw the ball with no time outs and an unexperienced QB who doesnt know he has limited time to spike it.
If I had a dollar for ever time I’ve read a sentence that started with “The Browns have made a HUGE error”…
Somewhere, Alex Karras and Joe Schmidt are laughing their asses off.
September 21, 2017
Nobody recognizes the dude who posted this?
A major breakdown in Steelers coverage allowed Brissett to hit a very wide open receiver for a TD.
I think the Colts are worse than Cleveland or Frisco, so this is an amusing game so far.
Kamara strikes again. Nice to see the Bills in danger of dropping one for any playoff seeding implications.
Is Case Keenum sneakily the best backup in this league? Been putting up really good numbers.
Key word is backup, but yeah, he’s a nice guy to have around.
Might have played himself into the “first step of the process” for us.
I thought it was trendy to say Siemian was the best backup in the league. Maybe he isn’t sneaky enough
Stick a fork in Buffalo’s ass. Pretenders.
This hurts for so many reasons.
The Broncos were high on Kamara leading up to the draft.
And took Walker instead, right?
Juju Smith-Schuster was such a steal.
Stuck in a hotel room without red zone.
Why is fox sticking with the bills saints game when it is 40-3 with three minutes left. Show me a close game.
How do people deal with this every week?
We all howled when CBS turned off the Bronco blowout last week.
Golden Tate is a stud. I wish we would have signed him when he was available. No better wideout in the NFL after the catch.
The fucking Chargers, man. The fucking Chargers.
Makes me sad because I root for that dastardly Eaton Red Austin Ekeler and he had a great game up to this point.
Steelers pull out the win on a last second FG.
Well, gives Bortles a chance to suck more.
Way to predict this one…
Now that’s a team who better draft a quarterback. I would rather have any quarterback on the Broncos over that 25 year old senior citizen.
It’s like the old Laurel and Hardy door schtick: “After you.” “No, after you.” Then they both try to go through the door…
Hilarious that San Diego, yes San Diego, can still lose this game.
FG range now. We could have another quarter of this…
Bosa just gifted them into easier FG range.
The last five minutes of Brow games are invariably hilarious.
What the fuck, Marquise?
Oh, they’re so fucking stupid. So. Fucking. Stupid.
That was a crazy end to the game, and I only saw the last possession!
He had that fumble, but look at the numbers Ekeler put up today. 42 RU YD, 5 REC, 77 REC YD, 2 REC TD
Tyron Smith is out. Cowboys get to live like the Broncos today.
Never mind. Dak’s going to make it work.
I have no idea what to expect tonight. I haven’t even thought about it much.
So, it played out in a way to be even more painful for whoever still follows this team. They deflect their former kicker’s FG attempt and it still lines through the uprights. Probably wouldn’t have made it if not for their stupid five yard penalty on the previous play. Seems about right.
Lots of stupid play in that game.
It really is impressive how the Chargers always find a way to blow a game.
Two former Broncos st tackle…Schofield played every game with 4 starts ,only given up 1 sack, and Okung playing good…Rivers to old bad descions, defense penalties cost the game..
Getting rid of Scho was a real head scratcher for me.
Especially not getting anything for him when he was claimed by 10 teams. And Atl gave up a 5th for Sambrailo.
Statistically, Chargers and Broncos line are pretty similar.
Bortles was number one on Twitter until the Chargers Chargered again.
Seeing a pissed off and riled up Philip Rivers never gets old.
Except when they shut us out
Sorry. I’m not sure what you are talking about.
I think Julio Jones might be from the future.
Brutal red zone INT by Savage.
Evan Engram is going to be the ultimate weapon @ tight end moving forward.
When I click on the link for Jeremy’s articles at 5280, I get sent to Go Daddy and asked if I want the domain name.
I’m not getting that but I am getting a blank page.
Miracles of modern life with computers, I guess.
Adrian Clayborn is just abusing Chaz Green out there.
You could copy and paste that comment again after that last play.
There’s the Mike Nugent we all know well.
This is fucking ridiculous. They should take Dak out of this game if they want to have him next week.
So now we can rename “pulling a Michael Schofield” to “pulling a Chaz Green”.
This is pretty.
Cowboys allowed 10 sacks coming into this game. They’ve given up seven today.
Florio says that Falcons DC Marquand Manuel could become a HC candidate. Yes, that Marquand Manuel. I wish his intelligence could have been paired better with his body when he was in Denver.
I wonder if he is now a leader of men?
I think the Giants have what it takes to go 1-15.
I really do not want this to happen, because that would mean that the Broncos were that 1. Even the fucking 49ers could beat them at home.
The Niners have a decent shot @ 4-12, IMO.
Unfortunately, that may true of the Broncos as well.
Hope not, but we’ll see.
