To those Veterans out there, enjoy life.
To those that never served thank a Vet today for your life and liberty.
Are you a vet Lonestar?
If so, thank you for your service. And thanks to all the other readers of in-thinair who served
Yes, did time in the Silent Service back in the 69’s.
My late brother Ray served in the Marine Corp in Danang, South Vietnam. He was in Marine aviation. There was a program on PBS last night about that airfield having stored lots of Agent Orange – as it was dropped by air on the countryside. The US and Vietnam are doing a joint clean up operation. When Ray was being treated for a stroke, diabetes, etc – blood tests showed Agent Orange in his blood. Probably contributed to his stroke. He passed away in 2014 at 70.
Sorry for the loss of your brother.
Thank you, Steven.
MY father in law was exposed to AO while in Nam, nasty stuff. He Passed in 1999.
Sorry for your loss.
Thank you, Lonestar. He was fortunate to not have been injured or killed in a mortar attack in 1966. He was off work – but his commanding sargent was trying to find him to work in the hangar that evening. Everyone in there was either injured or killed. My mother’s prayers were very strong.
I’m still thinking about going to the game tomorrow. While checking on the Pats tickets, I notice the Broncos @ Colts game next month. There are literally hundreds of tickets available that will get you into Lucas Oil Stadium for less than ten bucks. I know this is a basketball town that stole their football team in the middle of the night, but this is still kind of amazing. “Good news, honey. Someone bought our seats. That’s 12 bucks we didn’t have yesterday.”
If it wasn’t a Thursday night game I would be all on that.
Thanks for the info – I think I’m going to head to that game with a friend who’s a Colts fan…
The Oklahoma State/Iowa State game on right now features possible 2018 Bronco starting QB Mason Rudolph.
Think how beautifully festive a Rudolph Bronco jersey would be? Finally, I wouldn’t be shunned at my in-laws for wearing a Broncos jersey to Christmas dinner.
Whichever NFL team drafts him, he’ll probably have to adjust to inferior wide receivers than he has now. ;~)
After they take McGlinchey in the first, right?
Works for me. Ideally they go BPA in round one and take their QB in round two. I’ve seen Rudolph projected into the top ten, but there are so many arms in this draft.
Recording OSU, Louisville and CU/USC.
I’m taping CU/USC and Georgia/Auburn. I wish DVR’s existed when Joel Buchsbaum was alive. The living space in his apartment wouldn’t have been 80% videotapes.
Wyoming at Airforce as well, if you’re looking for a patriotic flavor with questionable football.

He is a pussy grabbing adulterer who lies compulsively, yet he is the champion of evangelicals. This stuff fails to surprise me at all anymore.
Let’s not forget his 5 draft defferments this Veteran’s day, too— although he is apparently their champion, too.
This is ‘Murica these days.
The enlisted view him more favorably than his horrible numbers with the general public. Officers, people who have made a career out of the military, do not like him at all.
That surprises me that enlisted troops come in that low. Pretty much all the vets I know think he”s the bee”s knees. These same people couldn’t”t support Bill C. because of his dastardly avoidance of Vietnam.
The always shifting hypocrisy is mind boggling. The lack of concern about Johnson, on the heels of Bhengazi, is an outstanding example..
To all the veterans of the United States Armed Forces who contribute and comment here, thank you. Your service and sacrifice are appreciated.

Let’s hope he gets right while Brissett tears it up the last half of the season…
I’m really torn. It would take so much to get him, and the Broncos have so many other needs.
There is no greater need than QB. If there are questions about his injury and the Colts are comfortable with Brissett, I think the price won’t be as much as some think. Certainly a first rd. pick, but perhaps not much more if the pick is 8-10th overall.
If there are questions about his injury, the Broncos shouldn’t be involved. Of course, I agree that QB is the greatest need.
I mean the type of questions that Manning had post sitting out a yr. The trade won’t happen unless Denver is comfortable with his medical records/recovery. But the fact he had to miss a year with a shoulder injury is different than an ACL. Any team trading for him will have to be certain that he can play again but of course use the injury to leverage a better trade.
Jackson throws a great deep ball and has been limited by the talent around him. He has inconsistent feet and can struggle in the intermediate passing game with his accuracy.
Pretty observational of Jeremiah, there, connecting a shortish white QB with arm talent to Drew Brees.
Another Brees – Mayfield parellel is that they both play with gritty, lunch pail FBs.
Yeah, but if he’s talking about his talent as a passer, that’s saying something.
He is good, no doubt.
You want to doubt him because he’s short and he’s been throwing to four and five star recruits his whole career, but you watch him play and the concerns begin to evaporate. I know he doesn’t have a cannon arm, but if he was 6-4, he might be the consensus choice for number one pick.
He is currently my pick of the litter.
Auburn defense is laying down the law. Georgia can’t seem to settle down. I love seeing my boy Jarrett Stidham knock off number one.
Troy’s thinking what I’m thinking.
That we should run that offense and let Kelly do his thing?
Eh not necessarily. More like we have no idea who will actually be QB1 next year.
We don’t, which is disappointing and disconcerting. They are going to have to come into next year with a plan A which they can sell to the various stakeholders (ownership, locker room, fans). Depending on who that is, he may be a nice option as a plan B/C. I see him as the equivalent of a mid round pick once healthy and presumably keeping his nose clean. I am a proponent of keeping young QBs around for multiple years in a stable system.
Yeah, that was mostly tongue in cheek. I think that he could be the backup next year, though.
I don’t comment much but spend a ton of time reading here .. don’t want to jump on just to mooch but can anyone recommend a streaming link for the BSU/CSU game? I don’t get CBSSN at home … Thanks and Happy Veterans Day to all and thanks to all who’ve served
