As anyone who has read my articles or comments knows, I haven’t always been high on Broncos’ Left Guard Ben Garland. He could be good, I just haven’t seen enough to get my hopes up. There is no question however, that the big boy can eat:
Broncos' Ben Garland said he has to eat 10,000 calories a day to maintain his weight.

Let’s put that in perspective. The average American eats 2,000 calories a day, or one fifth of that. Popular food items in 10,000 calorie form would be: 50 Krispy Kreme donuts, 20 Big Macs, a little over 111 cans of Coke, 37 Twinkies, 44 pounds of kale, about 11.7 11 oz steaks, 909 sticks of gum, 5.25 cups of olive oil, about 6.8 chickens, 18.5 KFC Double Downs, 53 cups of chicken gravy, 1,100 grams of pure bacon fat, 20 Miller High Life 40s, 909 peanuts, 45.5 Hershey’s bars, 53 filets of cod (if he wants to eat likeĀ The Rock), 91 Bud Lights, or about 12.5 sticks of butter.
Garland, a 6’5, 308 pound US Air Force Veteran, has an interesting story. He was originally signed by the Broncos to play Defensive Tackle, and he was liked enough to be kept around on the Reserved/Military list while he filled out his 2 year commitment. He upped his weight from 275 to 308 in that time, and he seems ready to roll. Garland’s athleticism, as a former D Lineman, will help him compete in Kube’s ZBS. He is now ready to contribute on the other side of the ball, and has drawn rave reviews from Dove Valley. He’s a guy you want to root for.
I’ll be the first to admit it when I’m wrong, and it looks like I may have been wrong about him. Lord knows the Broncos desperately need O Linemen, and it looks like we may have found a good one.
Also while I doubt it would mesh with his practice schedule, I prefer to think that Garland drinks 91 Bud Lights on the daily. That’d really be badass.
