– John Clayton of ESPN and Mike Florio both raise a concern for the not-yet extended contracts of Pete Carroll and John Schneider. Clayton argues specifically that if the Seahawks aren’t able to extend the contracts of their HC and GM, they both are looking to move to LA. Brock Huard also notes that Schneider and Carroll have the leverage in this negotiation.
– RB Warrick Dunn seems to be the only guy in the NFL that supports police officers for what they do. He pleads to everyone to stop the violence and come together in peace.
– Former coach Marion Campbell passed away at the age of 87. RIP.
– The NFL is exploring whether they should narrow the goal posts to make it harder for today’s laser-accurate kickers. They will put computer chips in footballs to see whether they want to take action.
– RB Arian Foster will work out for the Dolphins and the Lions this week.
– Roger Goodell apparently wanted to scrap the Showtime series, Ballers, and made a call to Mark Wahlberg to see if they could get the show pulled. Natalie Ravots, Senior VP of Communications for the NFL, tweeted that the call never happened.
– Unlike Jarryd Hayne, Patriots S Nate Ebner was able to make it on to the US Olympic rugby team.
– Count Bart Scott in as one of those guys who believes Geno Smith will lead the Jets to more victories than Ryan Fitpatrick did.
– Former WR Stedman Bailey is starting from the top and now we here (bottom) and is becoming a student assistant for his alma mater, West Virginia. We’ll see if he can can continue his career by doing data entry and reports until into the wee hours of the night. And no, he can’t coach because it’s against NCAA rules. But, on another note, he is finishing his degree in the process so good on him.
