Broncos at Steelers: The 10 Things I Liked and the 10 Things I Didn’t

I apologize on the delay on this with holidays and all. These last two games we had a horrible second half. The media kept talking about the future of Brock Osweiler and Peyton Manning. I kept hearing conversations about how poor Brock Osweiler has played in the second half of games lately. Regardless of how he played, giving up 34 points on defense is rarely going to win games.

10 Things I Liked:

  1. Brock Osweiler scored 4 touchdowns
  2. Two defensive interceptions
  3. The defense allowed the Steeler’s running game only 23 yards for an average of 1.4 yards per play
  4. On offense we had 24 rushing plays for an average of 4.2 (3.52 without Emmanuel Sanders’  24-yard run)
  5. Speaking of WR Emmanuel Sanders, he had 10 catches for 181 yards
  6. 3 sacks and 6 QB hits on the elusive Ben Roethlisberger
  7. Punter Britton Colquitt got one ball in the 20. That’s a nice surprise for once, but it took 6 tries
  8. As much as everyone is aggravated with WR Demaryius Thomas and his dropped passes, he had two touchdowns for the day
  9. Our defense forced the Steelers’ offense to be one-dimensional, throwing 55 passes on the day
  10. We had more yards per play (5.4) than the Steelers (5.0)

10 Things I Didn’t Like:

  1. We gave up in the second half
  2. Offensive line folded too quickly in the second half
  3. 3 fumbles on offense
  4. We didn’t even bother running the ball in the second half
  5. We forgot to tackle in the second half. I gave up counting after 10 missed tackles
  6. I counted at least 5 dropped passes in the second half on what could’ve been 3rd down conversions
  7. Over 65 yards given up in second half on penalties
  8. We gave up the most yards all year against Ben Roethlisberger at 380 yards
  9. We gave up the most passing touchdowns all year with 3
  10. WR Antonio Brown had field day with 16 catches for 189 yards and two touchdowns
