Now to other matters: I had a friend of mine who I got to know online through other writing activities, who unexpectedly passed away yesterday. I’m feeling pretty numb and heartbroken about it and I don’t know if I’m going to have a Midweek Musings for you this week. It’s just going to depend on how soon I feel like getting back to writing about things that don’t seem as important in times when somebody you got to know, even if it was through online communication, is no longer part of your life.

It’s times like this that make you realize how precious life is and, as much as we get caught up in the NFL and the Denver Broncos, there are more important things in life than those things, and family and friends are two that definitely make the list.

Never forget to tell the people who are important to you, how much they mean to you.

I'm a sports writer in real life, though I've always focused on smaller communities, but that hasn't stopped me from learning more about some of the ins and outs of the NFL. You can follow me on Twitter @BobMorrisSports if you can put up with updates on the high school sports teams I cover.
