Broncos Final Roster Moves: Two Claimed; Ball, Gradkowski Cut

The Denver Broncos have claimed two players off waivers.

It’s not surprising the Broncos added a tight end. The Ferentz addition is a little surprising, as one would have thought the Broncos would claim an offensive tackle.

UPDATE: The Broncos have released G/C Gino Gradkowski.

That’s somewhat of a surprise, considering the Broncos sent a fourth-round pick to the Ravens for Gradkowski, even though they got a fifth in return. No indication as to whether or not the draft pick swap was conditional on Gradkowski making the team. If not, the trade goes down as a bust.

And the other player that’s gone…

That ends Montee’s run with the Broncos. He’ll go down as the first bonafide draft-day bust of the John Elway as GM era.

One Bronco was claimed off waivers by another team.

No surprise that other teams were interested in Johnson.

The practice squad is taking shape.

Uko is a defensive end who spent time on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ practice squad most of last season. He was promoted to their active roster in late December, but the Bucs waived him earlier this month.

ILB Zaire Anderson, C/G Dillon Day and WR Jordan Taylor were waived by the Broncos Saturday.

UPDATE, 2:30 p.m. MT: Broncos have added three more (note: Uko is still on the squad, Jhabvala just didn’t include him on this tweet.)

Chuka Ndulue and Taurean Nixon were waived Saturday. Danny Mason was waived when the cuts went down to 75.

UPDATE, 8:45 a.m. MT: The final players added to the Broncos practice squad.

Uko was actually reported as a signing Sunday. Bibbs and Roberts were both waived Saturday. Lynch was a fifth-round pick by the Miami Dolphins in 2014. The Dolphins waived him earlier this year, the Jets claimed him, then waived him Saturday.

To recap the Broncos’ practice squad:

RB Kapri Bibbs
WR Jordan Taylor
TE Arthur Lynch
OT Kyle Roberts
C/G Dillon Day
DE/DT George Uko
DE/DT Chuka Ndulue
ILB Zaire Anderson
OLB Danny Mason
CB Taurean Nixon
