First off, my apologies for the long delay. I was out of town this past weekend and, for privacy and security reasons, I didn’t want to inform everyone prior to leaving. I recently got married and we went to visit some family and friends on the east coast who couldn’t attend.
This game came as a complete shock to me. I had a strong feeling we would lose this game, but I am pleasantly surprised. One of the largest observations I have to say is that I think the Bengals beat themselves more than the Broncos beat them. There were two obvious interceptions that were dropped, and the Broncos got 5 first down from penalties that extended drives.
10 things I liked:
- No interceptions
- Our offensive line played very well compared to last year
- 2 out of 3 red zone scores
- 4 touchdown passes
- An average of 8.2 yards per pass
- WR Emmanuel Sanders was solid with 9 catches and 117 yards
- Fun fact: WR Demaryius Thomas got 100 yards exactly
- OLB Shane Ray posted 6 tackles, 3 sacks, and 2 tackles for a loss
- 9 receivers caught the ball – compared to the Bengals 6
- Those deep passes were awesome
10 things I didn’t like:
- Our defense allowed 4.9 yards per rush
- Our offense only got 2.3 yards per rush
- Two horrible throws should’ve been interceptions
- Only had 27:54 minutes of possession compared to 32:06
- We struggled with WR A.J. Green – he had 8 catches for 77 yards
- Our defense let QB Andy Dalton squirm for 40 yards
- Of 5 punts, none made it within the 20, but they at least averaged 46.2 yards
- We allowed 4 tackles for a loss
- I’m concerned that 4 offensive linemen players 100% of the snaps. I think there should be more a little more rotation so the others gain experience.
- The fumble WR Demaryius Thomas had didn’t help

Before I get into my bonuses, the NFL is cracking down on streams on streamables, so I’ll have to find other sources.
