Brads NFL Picks Week Fourteen 2016

Brads NFL Picks   Week Fourteen   2016

Brads Picks was 11 – 4  last week and is 116 – 74 – 2 on the season.   The results from last week:
the good:

Cowboys 17, Minnesota 15 (TNF)  –  Epic battle.  Sam Bradford threw a 3 yard TD pass with with 25 seconds left.  That made the score 17-15 and you know what happened on the two point attempt.

Broncos 20, Jacksonville 10  –  Broncos D was great – two INTs, one a pick six.  Rookie QB Paxton Lynch, subbing for Trevor Siemian (foot) was a disappointment.  Broncos lone offensive TD was on a drive that was fueled by the run.  The TD was by RB Davontae Booker.

Green Bay 21, Texans 13  –  Brock Osweiler was decent, especially considering it was cold and snowy at Lambeau.  Os was 22-35-202  with 2 TDs and no INTs.

New England 26, Rams 10  –  Cheaters put up 133 rushing yards against a stout Rams defense.  Cheaters held the Rams to 36 on the ground.  Jared Goff threw 2 INTs (and a TD).  Cheaters had two TDs and 4 FGs.

Baltimore 38, Dolphins 6  – Joe Flacco threw for four TDs and the Ravens had a complete game against a Dolphins team that had won 6 straight.  Ravens were as surprised as anyone when the game was over.

Cincinnati 32, Eagles 14  –  Bengals gained 412 yards without AJ Green or Giovanni Bernard. Carson Wentz (Eagles) threw 60 passes, completing 36, but he threw 3 INTs (and 1 TD).

Oakland 38, Bills 24  –  Bills 10, Raiders 9 at the half. Bills 24, Raiders 9 midway through the 3rd quarter.

Buccaneers 28, San Diego  21  –  Phillip Rivers threw 2 TDs and 2 INTs – one of the INTs was in the Bucs end zone with a few minutes left.  Jameis Winston threw one of each.  Bucs outscored the Chargers 11-0 in the 4th for the win.

Pittsburgh 24, Giants 14  –  Steelers got a safety and a field goal in the first to take a 5-0 lead.  They got a TD (missed the two point conversion) and a field goal in the second for a 14-0 halftime lead.  At the end of the third, the score was 21-7.

Seattle 40, Panthers 7  –  Squacks gained 534 yards, their best in two years.  This was the Panthers second game in a row on the west coat (at Oakland the week before).
Colts 41, NY Jets 10  –  Jets QBs tossed 1 TD and 3 INTs; Andrew luck threw 4 TDs.

the bad:

Chiefs 29, Atlanta 28  –  Falcons failed on a couple of crucial plays, and that was the difference.  Falcons scored a TD late in the game to make the score Falcons 28, Chiefs 27.  Falcons went for two to make it a three point game but Matt Ryan’s throw was picked off by Eric Berry and returned for 2 points  for the final score.  Earlier, the Chiefs got a TD on an Eric Berry pick 6 and another off a fake punt.

Arizona 31, Redskins 23  –  Reds 2nd road trip in a row (Dallas the week before) and they go to Philly next week.  Carson Palmer, who’s been a turnover machine, played a perfect game – 30-46-300 with 3 TDs and 0 INTs.

the ugly:

Chicago 26, 49ers 6  –  6 net passing yards for the 49ers.  Worst passing performance by any NFL team since 2009.  And to top it off, they were penalized for excessive celebration after a TD, and then the TD was overturned.
Lions 28, New Orleans 13  –  Very impressive win by the Lions.  Putting up 28 points in the Superdome against a Saints defense that had been steadily improving surprised just about everyone.  And they did it without their top WR Marvin Jones.  And the Lions D picked off Drew Brees three times.

this week’s games:

the TNF game:

Oakland (10-2)  at Kansas City (9-3)  –  Division game.  Chiefs 26, Oakland 10 in Week Six.  Despite heaters under the turf at Arrowhead, the ground is frozen.  Temp at kickoff will be in the low 20s.  Should be a tough division game.  I’m taking the Chiefs.

   the 11:00 MST games:

Pittsburgh (7-5)  at Buffalo (6-6)  –  Steelers have won three straight, partly due to an improving defense.  But the Steelers offense is very good and should do what the Raiders offense did to the Bills in the last game.  Steelers have won 5 straight over the Bills, and will make it 6.

Houston (6-6) at Indianapolis (6-6) –  Division game.  Colts played at Jets on MNF. Texans played at Lambeau on Sunday.  Texans won 26-23 in OT Week Six.  Colts lost maybe their best defensive player, LB D’Qwell Jackson, for 4 games for a substance violation.  But  I’m taking the Colts because Andrew Luck is hot.
Washington (6-5-1) at Philadelphia (5-7)  –  Division game.  Washington’s third road game in a row (at Dallas and Arizona – both losses).  Reds get the Panthers at home next week so they won’t be looking ahead.  Washington‘s the better team.

Denver (8-4) at Tennessee (6-6)  –  Big game for the Titans – they’re in contention for the first time in years and are playing the SB Champs.  Titans are off a bye, while the Broncos are playing their second in a row on the road. Should be an exciting game. Titans have a great run game, while the Broncos have had trouble against the run but are improving.   Broncos should get Trevor Siemian back at QB, and that, along with the Broncos D, should be enough for a win.  Turn that around if the Broncos have to go with Paxton Lynch at QB.
New Orleans (5-7) at Tampa Bay (7-5)  –  Division game.  Bucs have won four  straight.  Saints were blown out at home last week by the Lions.  These two haven’t played each other this year (they will again in two weeks).  Take the Bucs – they’re playing better lately (even the defense) and are at home.
San Diego (5-7) at Carolina (4-8)  –  Home sweet home for the Panthers, after two west coast losses (Oakland, Seattle).  Chargers have been good at finding ways to lose this year.  Take Carolina.
Cincinnati (4-7-1) at Cleveland (0-12)  –  Division game.  Cleveland is off a bye.  Bengalsare off a convincing win over the Eagles.  I don’t think anyone in the world thinks the Browns will win a game this year.  Although, if it happens this would be the time – division game at home, when their last three are at Buffalo, Chargers, and at Pittsburgh.  Could happen.
Chicago (3-9) at Detroit (8-4)  –  Division game.  Detroit.

Minnesota (6-6) at Jacksonville (2-10)  –   Minnesota played ten days ago. Jags are on pace for their worst turnover margin in team history.
Arizona (5-6-1) at Miami (7-5) –  Miami’s defense, which had been so good, has allowed 971 yards the last two games.  Cardinals RB David Johnson is only the second player in NFL history to gain over 100 yards from scrimmage in his first 12 games of a season (the other is Edgerrin James).  Carson Palmer had a mistake free game last week but he’s terrible on the east coast and I think Miami gets back on track.
the 2:05 MST game:

NY Jets (3-9) at San Francisco (1-11)  –    Jets played on MNF.  Bryce Petty will start at QB for the Jets.  I have no idea who will start at QB for the 49ers.  But take the Niners at home.

the 2:25 MST games:

Seattle (8-3-1) at Green Bay (6-6)  –  Seattle will be without safety Earl Thomas, their best defensive player (out for the year with a broken leg).  Seattle has lost four in a row at Lambeau.  Packers should win this, but Russell Wilson might score some points before it’s over.

Atlanta (7-5)  at Los Angeles (4-8)  –  Might be a close game.  Atlanta’s defense is poor, but the Rams offense is worse.  Rams defense is good, but the Falcons offense is better.
the SNF game:

Dallas (11-1) at NY Giants (8-4)  –  Division game.  Dallas’  lone loss this season was  to the Giants in week one 20-19.  Dallas last played on TNF, so a few extra days of rest.  Giants pass rushing DE Jason Pierre-Paul is out for the year a hernia.   All that says Cowboys win. Eli Manning has been good and bad this year.  I think good Eli shows up and the Giants win.  Cowboys been stylin’ too much.
the MNF game:

Baltimore (7-5) at New England (10-2)  –  Ravens bashing of the Dolphins last week was impressive.  Cheaters will be without Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola.  Ravens know how to win at Foxboro and are feeling it.
