Open Thread: What would you take for Manning?

As I’m sure you are already aware, reports are swirling that the Broncos tried to trade PFM this offseason. With the stipulations that Manning is A: Healthy, B: Happy in Denver, and C: Osweiler is an average starter at this point in his career, what would Houston have to give Denver to make this trade okay in your eyes? What if they offered J.J. Watt? Or a couple picks?

Sound off on what your price would be if you were John Elway.

Benjamin Allbright: Broncos tried to trade Peyton Manning to Texans

Since this is a hefty rumor we’ll need a thread for it:

Scouting 2016: Edge

Hello Broncos Country!

This is a continuation of my weekly column, in which I scout the top 3 at every position in the 2016 draft. I know this is looking way ahead, but if you are a draft geek like me, it is still good to get a feel for what next offseason has in store. I also would like to mention at this point that I will not be scouting kickers or punters, sorry Marshall Morgan.

All 22 Chris Harris

Continuing in today’s apparent theme of Chris Harris love, I found an interesting article dissecting just what makes him so good that I felt was worth sharing.

Earlier this month, I shared a Mile High Huddle all-22 film stufy of Bradley Roby. Well, Chad Jensen continued that series, this time examining Chris Harris Jr.

Rankings, Schmankings!

Last week, I had heard that Tony Romo was going to be the highest undrafted player ranked on the NFL’s Top 100 list.  This meant that, because he hadn’t been named yet, Chris Harris, Jr. would not be included on the list.  I thought briefly of making a post on this, and earlier today Leo delivered a cathartic rant on the subject.

But I decided not to make that post last week.  Why?  Because we should not stress out and pay as much attention to rankings as we do.

Ranking the Broncos: 80-71

Hello Broncos Fans!

Going into training camp, this Broncos team has a lot of new, unfamiliar faces on the roster. In order to help the average fan get acquainted with the layout of the roster, I am ranking the Broncos 90 man roster pre-training camp. Keep in mind, that IR players (ahem, Ryan Clady) will not be included on this list. If you have any disagreements with my rankings, let me know.

Gronk is Living Smart

“Gronk” is one of the wilder personas in the league, and a reputation as a party animal has followed him since college.

While Patriot’s Tight End Rob Gronkowski may exude a dumb jock persona, that may not be consistent with reality. In his new autobiography Good to be Gronk, Gronkowski writes:

To this day, I still haven’t touched one dime of my signing bonus or NFL contract money. I live off my marketing money and haven’t blown it on any big-money expensive cars, expensive jewelry or tattoos and still wear my favorite pair of jeans from high school.

With deals with Body Armor and Dunkin’ Donuts, Gronk is probably still living well. Still, after what I wrote about Clinton Portis, it’s refreshing to see an athlete spending smart.

It’s really a shame he plays for the Pats. Gronk is one of the more like able personalities in the league, and has shown that NFL players can have fun without affecting their work life.
