Thanks D-Ware… see you in the HOF in 5…

  • Thanks for the memories, D-Ware. Glad you got a ring!

  • Nick

Thank you very much, DeMarcus. Thanks for being an integral part of getting the Broncos another ring, and one that you definitely deserved for what better be recognized as a Hall of Fame career.

  • InSiemianWeTrust

What a class act. Can’t wait to see his next step.

  • Snatch Mouth

True Champion DWare, we’re so thankful you came on for the run and dominated your side!

    HOF Bound!

  • BlackKnigh

Thanks, DeMarcus, for what you did for the game of football. Everywhere you went – you left things better than when you came. Best wishes for the future. Thanks for being a Bronco!!

Starting a campaign to replace John Lynch with a transplant who, ya know, actually did something…

Time to rewrite the bylaws, then. If Lynch is in, then Ware should definitely be in.

    • gobroncos

This his stupid. I don’t think Lynch belongs in the Ring of fame. I also don’t think Ware does either. He’s a great player and I’m glad he helped us win a SB, but the ring of fame should mean more than a couple of years as a Bronco fan favorite and a SB win. Not saying lifetime Bronco only, but even 4yrs is on the low end for # of years as a Bronco.

      • Rhett Rothberg

I could go for neither. Lynch has no business up there at all

    • Benjamin Funderburk

Performance aside, the fact that he helped Von Miller mature earns my vote for the RoF. Good guy who should have continued success off the field.

Denver Broncos-Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame Game August 8, 2021?

    Mission Accomplished D-Ware.

Sad day, but happy for him.

Thanks, D-Ware! You’re one of the greatest and classiest players to play the game. Glad you got your Super Bowl ring with the Broncos!

Peyton: Hey man, want to grab some Budweiser?

  • Jeremy

The bible verse he quotes was also used by Peyton in his retirement speech.

Wish we could see that speech from before the SB win.

    • RSH, Esq.

      That would be amazing.

Wish Philip Rivers was much higher on that list. Maybe Von hogged the opportunities.

    • Nick

87.5% of sacks of Cam Newton came as a Bronco, and half of them came in Super Bowl 50.

    • Yahmule

Getting sacked by Ware was arguably the high point of a couple of these guy’s careers.

      • Nick

Twitter’s been having fun with the Random Quarterback Generator in scouring through the list.

      • RSH, Esq.

Especially Tim Rattay’s, who ended up as DeMarcus Ware’s first NFL sack.

  • Yahmule

I’m happy for him. No reason to put his back through any more abuse. He’s accomplished all you can in this game. Really hard to quantify his contributions to the organization, but they were considerable and far reaching.

    • S Smith

Especially in the maturity and development of Von Miller.

      • Yahmule

And Von will pass some of that down to the next crop of youngsters.

    • Nick

Wow, I did not think he’d be able to get anywhere near that on the market. Pass rushers are always at a premium though.

      • InSiemianWeTrust

It’s fascinating that teams were willing to pay him that much.

Considering that’s how much he played for last year, it seems like finances weren’t driving his decision. Which confuses me, because he had repeatedly stated that he had “plenty left in the tank.” Perhaps for Ware it was Broncos or nothing, and Elway pulled a Peyton Manning on him. May have been the right move. Time for Ray to strut his stuff.

Stupid Disqus embedding the Instagram image but not the text:

Congrats on a hall of fame career! You are legendary! You helped me become the player/person I am today. God brought you into my life when I need you the most! I got to witness greatness, I had an opportunity to see what it takes to be legend! Thanks for everything brother!

  • Clockwork Orange

His performance in the AFC Championship game was incredible. He only registered half a sack, but he hit Brady seven times and was as disruptive as anyone on the defense.

Thanks for everything DWare. It was a privilege to watch you in orange and blue.

  • Andrew

We were lucky to have DWare I will always remember his contributions to the 2015-2016 SuperBowl run and the effect that he’s had on helping Von reach his potential.

  • Yahmule

Well, he’s certainly got plenty of options. He’s engaging and eloquent and he was probably the most handsome guy on the team.

  • orangeandblueaussie

I didn’t expect to wake up to this but it’s not too surprising to see one of the classiest guys go out while he is still in demand rather than after his performance has diminished. Good onya D-Ware

  • RSH, Esq.

  • Brian

maybe he can pull a James Harrison for us. If not, Happy trails to a class act.

  • Royalwithcheese

Has any player ever been more important to the Broncos in just three years? His impact has been immeasurable.

I usually don’t do this with players who could be associated with another team, but I may have to get a Ware jersey.

    • Yahmule

Terrell Davis, who slayed the King Kong sized monkey on John Elway’s back in his third season and Floyd Little who gave fans a reason to come to games, thus keeping the team from moving the Atlanta, would be the only ones who spring immediately to mind.

  • My best to him. A good guy who has a great career, his leadership will be missed but happy for him he can go out proudly on his own terms and go do something else fun like broadcasting. Thanks for all the juke moves and sacks in your time in Denver!
